Reach Out to Incoming Queer Students!
The Office of Admissions has created a new Student Profile web page--an engaging way for prospective students to get to know our amazing UCSC students and for them to see who their peers will be, should they choose to become Banana Slugs! These 3 questions are where queer students can indicate they're queer: Activities/interests, How did you choose UCSC?, What made UCSC stand out for you among other college choices?, What are the best things about UCSC? Upload your queer profile here!

QReview
Uncle Mame
Edward Everett (Pat) Tanner III was the author of sixteen novels, made millions, became the toast of Manhattan society, and had his works adapted into wildly successful plays, musicals, TV shows, and films. He also spent every cent he made, worked incognito as a butler to the wealthy, and constructed a persona so elaborate that not even his wife and children ever quite knew the real Pat.

What has the Cant
done for YOU?
We are excited about the new academic year about to unfold! Our student staff folks are BUSY creating resource guides, Fall programs, publicity materials, etc. They are sprucing up the center so it looks more fabulous than ever. Tam is back from vacation, refreshed! Deb is in the middle of her 'staycation' and managing to actually put center duties on hiatus for the most part (QConnect is an exception!). She's swimming and lounging and reading and puttering to her heart's content; her aim is to feel newly inspired for the BIG new year.

Protect LGBTQ Olympic Athletes and Spectators!
The eyes of the world will be on Russia during the Olympics early next year, providing our best opportunity yet to pressure the Russian government to get rid of their anti-LGBT laws.
As somebody dedicated to advancing equality everywhere, you can help make a ruckus so large that the IOC will have no choice but to condemn Russia's actions and ensure the safety of equality supporters at the 2014 Olympic Games.
