Christopher and His Kind
Originally published in 1976, Christopher and His Kind covers the most memorable ten years in the writer's life--from 1929, when Isherwood left England to spend a week in Berlin and decided to stay there indefinitely, to 1939, when he arrived in America.

What has the Cant
done for YOU?
. Last week Deb and Tam ventured to UC Berkeley to spend the day with our colleagues working at GLBTIQAA resource centers within the UC system. We had a terrific time meeting each other face-to-face, sharing "best practices", learning and laughing. We look forward to implementing some new ideas in the Fall.
One bittersweet aspect for us was hearing how many of the other resource centers are adding their third full-time staff positions at a time when the Cantu Queer Center has been re-organized to a reduced staffing level of just one and a half positions. Coupled with the fact that the last all-campus survey showed UCSC with the highest percentage of GLBTIQ identified students, well, just say that while we were congratulating our colleagues on their good fortune, we were sadly reminded of the disparities across the campuses. Without adequate professional staff, our services to students are compromised and our student workers receive inadequate mentoring. The systemwide GLBTIQ Task Force that meets with the Office of the President will be addressing these discrepancies in the upcoming year.
