 Waiting for Gertrude

In Paris's Pere-Lachaise cemetery lie the bones of many renowned departed. It is also home to a large number of stray cats. Told in a series of amusing set pieces and intercepted letters, this is a delicious tale of intrigue, unrequited love, longstanding quarrels, character assassinations, petty spats, and sorcery that builds to a steady climax at the cats' annual Christmas pageant.

What has the Cant
done for YOU?
.
Our curator director, Jesus Zuniga, spent many hours last week working with student artists to mount our latest exhibit on Self Love. So, stop by the GALA Gallery to get a big wonderful dose of love for your self! P.S. The Cantu Queer Center IS open this summer but because of our very small staff, vacations, trainings, etc., we recommend you call before you come by. Deb: 459.4385  Tam 459.2468   or email us: dabbott@ucsc.edu or tamw@ucsc.edu

Deb, Tam, and many other campus members were part of the crowd outside the courthouse last Monday celebrating the reversal of Proposition 8, California's gay marriage ban, as well as that of DOMA.  We're still assessing what the impact of those Supreme Court decisions will look like for UC staff, faculty, and students. We'll keep you posted!
