Why The Butterfly?
We chose the butterfly for our logo because of "The Butterfly Effect." The meaning comes from a 1972 talk given by Edward Lorenz to the American Association for the Advancement of Science describing the chaos theory titled, "Does The Flap
Of A Butterfly's Wings In Brazil Set Off A Tornado In Texas." In other words, the ripples of a very small change can make a huge difference down the road. |

We're Having an Anniversary!
It's hard to believe we've been changing lives in Northeast Forida for 10years - but it's true! As we look back over the last 10 years, we see how we've grown, how we've changed, and most importantly, the lives we've touched. We've got some great plans for the year, not only in celebrating this milestone, but in growing and developing our programs in order to continue to change the lives of those we touch for the better. |

We always strive to ensure every individual we serve is given the opportunity to meet our mission's goal of full inclusion, choice, and self determination. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith for parents to give our programs a chance. See what Leslie Weed had to say about her daughter's first Henderson Haven experience:
"Because I was able to observe the personal care provided in an educational, safe and caring environment, I enrolled my daughter in Henderson Haven's Free to be Me summer camp program. My daughter is non-verbal and has many issues, typically requiring 2 to 1 student teacher ratio. My daughter Lanier transitioned into Henderson Haven camp, almost instantly; she was able to tolerate larger groups with a greater ratio of children to teacher. I would receive "tweet's" all day from the camp letting me know what activities the kids were enjoying. I could log onto my special web page and download pictures of Lanier during the day. They were so organized and efficient giving me the next days activities when I picked her up. Each day they would give me a stack of pictures of Lanier enjoying her day at camp; arts, playing the guitar, playing sports among other things." |

Camp is Back!
 Last year was the first year for our summer camp and this year we're expanding it! Camp Possible will be a full 4 weeks of fun, crafts, music, games and weekly themes ending in Funtastic Fridays!
Camp will take place July 1st through July 26th and once again be held at the Broach School Orange Park campus. We're excited to be offering an extra week this year and look forward to a great time for all!

The Celebrity Dinner Show Returns!  Our most popular event is back to celebrate our 10th Year Anniversary! Make sure to mark August 14th on your calendars now and come out to the Alhambra Dinner Theater where we'll be staging a "radio broadcast" of some old and new radio favorites. Add musical guests and a great meal provided by The Alhambra Chef, and you're in for a great fun-filled evening. We're proving that our system can work for anyone and we're even showing that in the long run, our way is cheaper. We can see a future for Florida where segregation is a thing of the past and everyone is able to be a contributing member of their communities.
