Sokurov's Russian Ark 
The Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, will present Russian Ark, the 2002 landmark film by Russian director Alexander Sokurov on Saturday, May 3rd at 3 p.m. One continuous camera shot bears witness to 300 years of Russian history via a fantastical journey through the Hermitage Museum, former Winter Palace of the Tsars. Two Hundred Years
Time is running out to view the Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, blockbuster exhibition The Tsars' Cabinet: Two Hundred Years of Russian Decorative Arts Under the Romanovs, on view only through May 24th. From the time of Peter the Great in the early eighteenth century to that of Nicholas II in the early twentieth century, many of the more than 230 objects in the exhibition were designed for public or private use of the tsars or other Romanovs. Gallery is open Tuesdays - Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Thursdays til 7 p.m. Use your WOO Card to save $1 off admission

Reawakening
Celebrate spring in New England with the arrival of Reawakening: Color Returning to the World exhibition by the Silk Road Artist Guild at the Sprinkler Factory Gallery, 38 Harlow Street, Worcester. Exhibit opens on Sunday May 4th with a special reception from 2-5 p.m. The Silk Road Art Guild is a cooperative organization celebrating and exhibiting the art of the East, including the middle east and the Asian countries along the Historic Silk Road. Perhaps the prettiest sign of the arrival of spring, the daffodil, will be front and center as Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Drive, Boylston, hosts the Seven States Daffodil Society Show on Saturday, May 3rd from 12 noon - 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 4th from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. At this colorful show you'll find all twelve divisions of daffodils represented as single stems in vases and floral arrangements. The development of 'the pill' constituted as much of a societal revolution as a scientific one. The Worcester Historical Museum, 30 Elm Street, Worcester, will host UMass Med School Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, Dr. Thoru Pederson on Thursday, May 8th at 7 p.m. for a dynamic discussion about some of the lesser known elements behind the story of the development of the birth control pill and how a series of bizarre, improbable events led to Worcester's role in its creation. State of Slavery
Regional people of color submitted three important petitions to the provincial legislature: one calling for an end of slavery in the colony, another asking that former slaves be transported back to Africa, and a third that lands be set aside in the western part of Massachusetts for former slaves. The American Antiquarian Society, 185 Salisbury Street, Worcester, will host Thomas Doughton for a lecture, Slavery in the Bowels of a Free & Christian Country: People of Color and the Struggle for Freedom in Revolutionary Massachusetts, on Tuesday, May 13th at 7 p.m. The presentation will explore the relationships of people of color in central New England and an emerging political discourse of revolutionary freedom. Program to include works of Haydn, Mozart and Schumann. The concerts mark the kickoff of the Recital Hall Expansion phase of JOMP's 25th Anniversary Campaign, with proceeds going towards an effort to double seating capacity and raise the ceiling for enhanced acoustical enjoyment.
