Spring has Sprung exhibition opens
Worcester - The spring 2014 installation of the Worcester Windows Community Gallery is a study in contrasts - featuring the bright, vibrant oversized works of Lukas Godaire, juxtaposed with a back and white challenge issued to the talented artists of the Worcester Alliance of photographers.Exhibition opened Friday, March 14th and will be on view through May 31st.

About the Artist:
Lukas Godaire uses the natural world as the center of his inspiration. He uses his thoughts and visions to dream up a landscape that is full of vibrant colors along with styles found in both abstract and realism to create a sense of wonder throughout his paintings. Lukas graduated from Worcester State University in 2012 with a B.A. in the Visual & Performing Arts where he used his talents in painting and music to provide an ambient atmosphere amongst his artwork.
Black & White - Worcester Alliance of PhotographersCity Hall Gallery, 455 Main Street
We live in a vibrant, colorful world. Taking away that color conjures memories of an earlier era before color film, but black and white photography is far from obsolete. Making photos in black and white forces photographers to ignore color and make images where light and shadow, textures, and shapes as defined solely by tone. For this exhibit, WAP challenged photographers to slow down and take a look at the world without hue.

The Worcester Alliance of Photographers is a place where both amateur and professional photographers meet to talk about technical aspects of photography, be create and share ideas. The WAP meets the last Thursday of every month. Additional details available online.

Worcester Windows is a community gallery program which uses storefronts throughout downtown Worcester as exhibit space to enhance the City's downtown and to provide display opportunities for local emerging and established artists. Originally intended simply as a means to provide exhibit opportunities, Worcester Windows has grown dramatically, successfully raising the awareness of Worcester as a Creative City by not only bringing artwork to the public and showcasing local talent, but in also establishing itself as a true community gallery through which many of the exhibiting artists have sold works.
Worcester Windows is funded in part by the Worcester Cultural Coalition, the City of Worcester, and the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, with additional support from the Worcester Alliance of Photographers and Bay State Savings Bank.
