An Evening with Haydn
Sylvia Berry, fortepianist and Dale Munschy, keyboard technician and restorer, will explore the story and legacy of changing tuning systems and keyboard instruments in the 17th and 18th centuries at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19th at Clark University's Traina Center for the Arts, 92 Downing Street, Worcester. The lecture will be followed at 7:30 p.m. with a recital of Haydn's late keyboard works, performed on a Broadwood and Son fortepiano built in London in 180 and fully restored in 2011. African Roots
As part of its ongoing Sunday Sermon Series, the Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury Street, Worcester, will host Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester faculty member Elizabeth Bronstein, cello and fiddle, and partner Sam Politz, accordion, for a performance in honor of Black History Month on Sunday, February 23rd at 1:30 p.m. Politz, a native of Louisiana, will speak about the African roots of two unique American musical styles - New Orleans Jazz and Louisiana Cajun music.
