Upper School Musical Theatre Students Perform at The Cabaret

Students in Lamonte Kuskye's new Upper School Musical Theatre class will give an intimate cabaret performance at The Cabaret, located in the historic Columbia Club on Monument Circle. Join us for a special evening of music and entertainment in one of the most beautiful venues in the city, known for hosting top Broadway, Jazz and international cabaret performers. First Annual Pantherfest Booster Club Fundraising Dinner Sunday, April 24 5:00 p.m. Clowes Commons Join the Booster Club and keynote speaker Yogi Ferrell '12 for a fundraising dinner in support of the Park Tudor athletic program. Yogi is a 2012 Park Tudor graduate and currently leads the IU Hoosiers basketball team. Yogi has been selected first team all-Big Ten, he is IU's all-time leader in assists, and is a candidate for the John Wooden Player of the Year award. There will be a meet and greet with Yogi prior to the dinner. Enjoy a buffet catered by Ruth's Chris featuring favorites like filet bites, chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and cookies. All ages are welcome! Purchase tickets online. Race to the Derby Kicks Off April 4
Challenge your fellow alums during our second annual Race to the Derby Alumni Challenge for graduating classes prior to 1995, a friendly competition to increase Park Tudor Annual Fund support. Make your gift now to propel your class forward to get the best post position! Gifts from all eligible alumni between July 1, 2015 and April 4, 2016 count toward your class's participation and will set the post positions.
The Race to the Derby is a participation challenge, so the class with the highest percentage of graduates contributing the to the Park Tudor Annual Fund will win. The prize? Bragging rights, plus a celebration reception hosted by the school, and the opportunity to direct a gift of $500 to a school project of the class's choice.

Drama Teacher and Theatre Director Jerry Grayson to Retire at End of School Year
It is with deep gratitude for his dedicated service that we announce the retirement of Jerry Grayson, after 31 years at Park Tudor.
Staging more than 60 productions in Ayres Auditorium, Jerry has directed an incredible range of theatrical works that have inspired, challenged and delighted our students and community.
Throughout his tenure, Jerry cultivated strong artistic partnerships with Rob Hueni, John Williams, Jeanne Bowling, Debbie Everett and many others to build an incredible Theatre Department, Drama curriculum and so much more. His dedicated work ethic, passion, intellect, high artistic standards and love for the rigor of Theatre generated enthusiasm in many former students who have enjoyed successful careers in the Performing Arts. Jerry staged his final musical theatre production, The Addams Family, in collaboration with Lamonte Kuskye, Nolan Brokamp, Ron Morgan and Jeanne Bowling, this spring for Park Tudor. Please join us in thanking Jerry for his extraordinary service to Park Tudor and in wishing him all the best in the future!

Topics run the gamut from legal issues to medical topics, to the arts, sports, science and beyond.

CyberPatriot Defense Teams Complete Successful Season
Congratulations to the 47 PT students who participated in CyberPatriot VIII this season. CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program and was conceived by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire high school students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future.
This was Park Tudor's sixth year to compete in the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, with participation growing from five to 47 students. The online competition puts teams of high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services. Competitions take place on specified weekends throughout the school year. Teams must complete all their work during one (1) six consecutive-hour period on the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of these competition windows. Teams compete for the top placement within their state and region, and the top teams in the nation earn an all-expenses paid trip to Baltimore, MD for the National Finals Competition. Coaches Bryon Realey and Karen Pellico fielded a record eight teams into the competition this season. Teams members were: Team #1: Alex Gregory, Bella Realey, Chris Lombardo, Jeremy Klotz, Kiran Bohyer and Nick Coury. Team #2: Amanda Li, Angi Li, Justin Lueck, Quinton Petrucciani, Rhodes Lacy and Zeba Kokan. Team #3: Alex Kim, Christian Amstutz, Karen Lu, Kendall Garner, Michelle Zhu and Riley Aquilano. * Michelle Shen, Allen Zhao, Andrew Wu, and Alex Gu scored in the top 5% nationally in the Mathematical Association of America's American Mathematics Competition. They have been invited to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam to compete for further honors. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
* Two PT teams competed in the Indiana Regional Science Bowl on Saturday, March 5. Park Tudor team #1 won the competition and will advance to the National Science Bowl in Washington DC.

The National Science Bowl is a highly competitive science education and academic event among teams of high school students who compete in a fast-paced verbal forum to solve technical problems and answer questions in all branches of science and math. * Dario Untama's AP Physics class competed in the Bridge Bust at Purdue on Friday, February 26. The Bridge Bust is a contest where students from different schools in the region (some even came from Illinois) compete to design and built a balsa wood bridge that will hold the most load for its own weight. * Sophomore Natalie Eriksen, a ballerina with the Central Indiana Academy of Dance, danced in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) ballet competition March 4 - 6 at The Tarkington Theater in Carmel. YAGP is the world's largest global network of dance.

* Sophomore Jonathan Moore was designated as Eagle Scout in February. To become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts, one must obtain a minimum of 21 merit badges, hold leadership positions
 and engage in community service.Jonathan earned 33 merit badges and exceeded the other requirements. Jonathan's Eagle service project served his school by planning, leading and carrying out the drainage and re-mulching of a portion of Park Tudor's cross country trail.
* On Saturday March 12, three Park Tudor Speech Team members competed at the State Speech meet at Fishers High School. Freshman Gary Zhang competed in humorous interpretation by performing "Dennis Moore" by Monty Python. Sophomore Beatrice Bowlby advanced to the quarterfinals with her original oratory entitled "Steps to Creating the Perfect Jack o' Lantern." Freshman Matt Fu also advanced to the quarterfinals in United States Extemporaneous speaking. Head Speech Coach is Tamara Tudor.

Boys Basketball: The boys basketball team (20-4) opened up IHSAA tournament play in sectional 28 at Beech Grove High School. The team defeated Cardinal Ritter in first round action, 64-46. They then followed that performance up with another victory in the semi-final game versus Beech Grove, 77-59. They were crowned sectional champions after defeating the #7-ranked Warriors from Danville High School by a score of 65-41. In the championship game, the Panthers were led by Isiah Moore with 20 points, Isaiah Rice with 17, Jaren Jackson Jr. with 12, and Kobe Webster with 10. The team's season ended in the regional tournament on Saturday, March 12 with a 66-56 loss to Brebeuf in the semifinal game. Isaiah Rice led the team in scoring with 19 points. Congratulations to the entire team for a successful season.
7th/8th Grade Girls Basketball: For the third year in a row, the PT 7th/8th grade girls basketball team is the IISL champion with a victory over St. Richard's! The Lady Panthers jumped out to a fast 10-0 lead, and their defense never allowed the St. Richard's girls to get any closer than 7 points. Guards Kristian Young, Mallory Hasselbeck and Lucy Crossin penetrated and kicked out with decisive precession. Using the glass in the lane and lighting up the nets from the outside, the game was dominated by the victors and punctuated with a 19 point margin of victory for the championship. Forwards Alicia Aaholm, Caroline Smith and Annabelle Hasselbeck combined in scoring 17 of the 39 points. Trinitie Terrell play really well and chipped in 5 points along with 12 rebounds. The final score was Park Tudor 39, St. Richard's 21.
The Lady Panthers ended the season with a record of 23 wins and 1 loss.
Cheerleading: The cheerleading team competed in the Indiana Crossroads Conference cheer competition this past Saturday at Monrovia High School. In four different categories they earned a total of 195.80 points with no deductions, which earned them a fifth place finish. The continued support and enthusiasm the girls have provided the many PT athletic teams throughout the fall and winter has been tremendous. They have continued to keep the crowd and student body engaged and enthusiastic at numerous sporting events throughout the year, continuing to make PT proud and representing the school and community in a first-class fashion.

5X5 Art Salon Seeks Submissions
All members of the Park Tudor community (students, their families, faculty and staff, and alumni) are invited to submit work to the 5x5 Art and Writing Salon. This year's theme is "Opposites." The theme is optional, but can be used as a jumping-off point for interpretation. Pieces need to measure 5 inches in each direction, and can be in any medium. All pieces submitted by April 18 will be displayed in the Upper School during Alumni weekend (April 29-30), with a reading of original short poetry, prose, and non-fiction pieces on Saturday, April 30. Please find all the guidelines, including instructions for dropping off or mailing submissions here.
