HELLO FROM LAURAWe are ending another year. As always, the shortest day of the year is December 21st celebrating the Winter Solstice. After that, the days get longer.
The sun goes into Capricorn and we prepare, like bears, to hibernate in winter, an inward and sensitive time. Nature is in its resting season and we are doing the same. We will be staying home more, dressing warmly and eating warming foods.
In Chinese medicine, the highlighted organs for this season are the kidneys and the bladder. Take care of them by drinking enough water, soups and teas to make sure the body gets rid of fluid waste.
With the sun going into Capricorn and Pluto, the great transformer, in Capricorn - we will be releasing not only fluids, but anything which is not needed.
Now is a divine time to lighten up in all ways.

MIND: LET GO OF HOLIDAY STRESS
1. Take control of your time. Keep schedules simple.
2. Find leisure time to relax to achieve balance. Leisure does not happen, we have to create it. Put your computer and cell phone to rest also.
3. Experience in the moment. When focused in the present we forget future worry and past guilt.
4. Concentrate and Focus on one task at a time.
5. Set priorities. Life is about making good choices. Determine what is most important, at any given time. Slow down, breathe, prioritize activities
Have a relaxing and happy holiday season.

BODY: THE HUNGRY HEART
Geneen Roth is a noted author and speaker, who binged and starved as an emotional eater. After years of struggle, she broke free from this destructive cycle. She believes many overeat in an attempt to satisfy emotional hunger and to fill a hungry heart.
These guidelines can be useful during the holiday, cooking and family season when food issues may appear. Remember the attitude of gratitude for this joyous season and the happiness it brings.
1. Eat, when hungry, sitting, in a calm environment.
2. Eat what your body wants, until satisfied. 3. No multitasking - Pay attention to the process of eating and how it is affecting you. 4. Eat, not because something is missing in your life, but for life energy and care of self.
Food is NOT Love Food Does Not Fill the Hungry Heart When you begin to understand what prompts you to eat other than hunger, you begin to understand the cause of compulsive food issues. Need help - call Laura

SPIRIT: IN THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT
At this holiday time of year, the external light on the earth is decreasing. This time period becomes a perfect opportunity to have an inner illuminating experience. Even if you have a busy schedule, take time to stop, breathe, go inside, reflect and find the inner light of your consciousness. This is a time of potential renewal for everyone who travels inward for divine healing. We are getting ready to greet the new year and the new improved you.
