I relaxed the last two weeks in Coronado Beach, San Diego, California. Lucky me, I escaped the snow and cold in the Boston area. Enjoyed the warm weather and the friendly people, who talk to "strangers" on the street. Unheard of in the Boston area. As a pet friendly community, dogs eat lunch with their owners in outdoor cafes. Perhaps weather determines behavior. No doubt, I will be going back.

BODY: Being in the Body
In this age of technology, people on trains, planes, on the street and at the dinner table have their eyes glued onto their smart phone and ears plugged into earphones. We have forgotten how to use all of our
senses to tune into who and what is around us.
Many have been killed or injured texting or emailing while driving or walking. We don't enjoy a good meal. We bring these devices to the table and eat fast food.
We don't even have the time or inclination to communicate with each other, in person. Why bother. They are on their cell phones, too.
We are here to smell the roses, to use our senses, to participate in nature, to feel the wind, to smell the sunshine, and to enjoy earth's bounty. Yes, technology has helped in many ways, but hindered us in others. We have become more cerebral, less human, more robotic, and married to these artificial devices.
We as humans are here to be in our bodies, not in our technological devices. Give it a rest! Breathe.
