Note from the editor
Rachel Brummond '15
It's the holiday season, and it could not be more beautiful on campus (albeit a little chilly!) I continue to be so thankful to be at a school that takes the holiday spirit to heart. Christmas at Luther is the embodiment of this spirit, and we hope you got the chance to hear the concert this year. If not, it will be broadcast on Iowa and Minnesota Public Radios. After finals finish up, campus takes a step back and becomes a little quieter until J-term. In this edition of the Parent Newsletter we have a spotlight on the new faculty blog, as well as links to Luther's flickr galleries attached to each photo. If you'd like to read past issues of the Parent Newsletter, we are now archiving them. As always, if you have questions, comments, or concerns don't hesitate to contact us at parentnewsletter@luther.edu
Message from Corey Landstrom, vice president, and dean for student life
December has arrived and we recently welcomed over 8,000 people who attended one of the five Christmas at Luther concerts (along with some unseasonably cold weather). I recognize that, for some parents, traveling to Luther to attend the concert was a challenge. If you were unable to attend, please know that you may experience the performance on public radio or purchase a CD or DVD of the concert through the Luther Book Shop. I attended the Thursday evening performance, my second Christmas at Luther. I am continually impressed with the gifts and talents our students make available for us to see and hear. READ MORE...

Faculty Blogs
The Ideas and Creations section of Luther College's website is brand new this year. It is a place for faculty to write blog posts. This initiative has included professors from departments across many fields of inquiry including but not limited to, religion, biology, classics, music, social work, and communications. It is a great place for faculty to explore their own creative voice and share opinions and stories with the Luther community. It is updated often with new voices, and there have been nearly 30 blog posts already. Be sure to check out what the Luther College Faculty have to say!
