Anaheim Fall Festival Celebrates 90 Years!
The time honored tradition of the Anaheim Fall Festival & Halloween Parade has been entertaining families in Orange County for generations. This year marks an especially important milestone as the Anaheim Fall Festival & Halloween Parade turns 90 on Oct. 25! Since 1924, the Anaheim Fall Festival & Halloween Parade has been made possible by the support of volunteers from all parts of Anaheim and our neighboring communities. This annual event has helped to unite our community, families, friends and loved ones. In recent years, we have seen newfound passion to make each year's Anaheim Fall Festival & Halloween Parade bigger and better. You won't want to miss out on all the spooktacular festivities planned.

Record Setting Season!

Congratulations to Angels Baseball on their 2014 American League West Division Championship title! While their playoff drive ended sooner than we had hoped, we say congrats on earning the best record in the league this year and for a record breaking season. Thank you for making this season jam packed with memories that will carry us fans through to Spring Training for the 2015 season! Know What's Happening in your Neighborhood

Anaheim's four neighborhood districts, in partnership with the Community Services Department, hold regular meetings to provide residents the opportunity to engage in discussions, ask questions, or learn more about specific 
initiatives happening
in their neighborhood. The next set of meetings are scheduled for the West- Oct. 15, East- Oct. 16, Central- Oct 22, South- Oct 23. All meetings will begin at 7 p.m. For meeting locations, or to learn more, click here.
  

Cast Your Vote on November 4

By now, you should have received your sample ballot in the mail. If you are not yet registered to vote, the deadline is Oct. 20 by mail or online. Visit the City Clerk's election webpage for valuable election resources, such as information about the three City measures, candidate information, polling locations, voter registration status, and other key details. Night of Community and Culture

Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead, is a popular Mexican holiday that pays homage to family and friends that have passed away. This celebration of life is shown through decorated altars filled with brightly painted skulls, marigold flowers, tissue paper streamers and more. On Nov. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m., come help celebrate Day of Dead- A Night of Community and Culture at the Downtown Anaheim Community Center. There will be crafts for kids, food, vendors, and live dancing. Admission is free. The lawn is open seating so don't forget to bring your lawn chairs and a blanket! To learn more, click here.

Anaheim Named Greenest City in OC

For the second consecutive year, the City of Anaheim was awarded the Eco-City Award for being the greenest city in Orange County. The award recognizes Anaheim for its commitment to environmental initiatives initiatives that demonstrates leadership for sustainability, which includes accomplishments with the LEED Platinum Design with Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) and the 2.4 megawatt solar rooftop at the Anaheim Convention Center, just to name a few. BlizzCon Returns to Anaheim!

BlizzCon returns to the Anaheim Convention Center on Nov. 7 and 8! Although tickets to this year's event are already sold out, eSport fans who didn't get the chance 

to snag Blizzcon tickets have another opportunity to witness the year's biggest StarCraft II tournament in person. Tickets are still available to catch this epic battle of the World Championship Series Global Finals. Blizzard Entertainment, an Orange County based video game developer, has received world- wide recognition for their video game hits including World of Warcraft. Phoenix World Burn Congress Comes To Anaheim

Anaheim Fire & Rescue is honored to serve as the host for the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors' World Burn Congress from Oct. 22 to 25. This conference provides burn survivors with the opportunity to share experiences and learn about the growing burn support system. Please join us for a special Walk of Remembrance on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center's Grand Plaza. To learn more, click here.

Do The Right Thing

Do you know of a child in your community whose accomplishment, attitude, or outstanding effort makes them a positive role model for their peers? If so, do your part and let us know that they are role-model worthy! On Nov. 19 the Anaheim Police Department will honor these young individuals for distinguished exemplary behavior. Oktoberfest

Come on down and check out Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Oak Canyon Nature Center (6700 E. Walnut Canyon Road). This free event runs from 11 to 5 p.m. The kids will be entertained by a bounce house, activities and special games, while adults can feast on bratwurst sausages, soft pretzels, and much more. You won't want to miss out on the silent auction, raffles and the infamous wiener dog races! To learn more, click here.

U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team Wins World Championship Gold Medal!

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the Anaheim-based U.S. Women's National Volleyball team, who trains at the American Sports Center, won their first gold medal at the FIVB World Championship held in Milan, Italy! The team led by volleyball icon Karch Kiraly, defeated China in four sets of the final match to earn this historic victory. To learn more about the U.S. Women's National Volleyball team, click here.
