Anaheim announces new Chief of Police

The City of Anaheim has selected a new Chief of Police - Mr. Raul Quezada. In recent months, qualified candidates from across the country competed for the opportunity to lead the Department. After a thorough, multi-panel interview and selection process, Chief Raul Quezada, who had been serving as Interim Police Chief since May 2013, was confirmed as the best candidate by the City Council at the December 17 meeting. We are pleased to have Chief Quezada in this important role as he continues to keep Anaheim one of the safest cities in Orange County. Anaheim is home to more than 346,000 residents and welcomes 20 million visitors annually. Your Voice Matters

Last week, OCWD signed a lease agreement with a private firm to build a 400MW power plant on one of the last remaining large public parcels in Anaheim. The City, along with more than 200 neighbors, businesses, and support from the OC Legislative Delegation, will continue the message that this land is the wrong location for a power plant. To learn about how you can voice your opinion click here.

Addressing Homelessness

The City of Anaheim is committed to protecting the safety and human dignity of homeless individuals while ensuring public spaces are preserved for their intended purposes.  As we have seen the homeless population grow in recent years, the City has focused its efforts toward strengthening existing partnerships with neighboring agencies, identified new resources, and explored successful models to connect our homeless community with the services they are seeking.
