In a new editorial in Annals of Internal Medicine (AOIM), physicians urge Americans to "stop wasting money on vitamin and mineral supplements."
The editorialists-referencing new research included in the same issue of the journal-warn that, "most supplements do not prevent chronic disease or death, their use is not justified, and they should be avoided".
The GOOD news:

Asian Coconut Cabbage Soup | | During the cold months, soup just works! And for a tasty soup with Asian flavors, this one is sure to put a smile on your face!
Ingredients - 5 cups green cabbage, shredded (about half of a head)
- 5 cups water
- 1 can (13.5 ounce) light coconut milk
- 4oz brown rice noodles, uncooked
- 1 1/4 cup green onions, sliced, dark ends separated from light green ends
- 3 cups sweet potato, chopped (about 3 small, 2 medium)
- 4 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
