A Word from Rev. Ellen
Last week in worship we talked about Christ's question to Peter, and ultimately to every Christian, "Do you love me . . . then tend or feed my sheep?" Fundamentally, the answer to Christ question is the only real foundation we have for a faith that lasts. After the service, I received this letter from Carrie Paxton. I call it the "I Love that . . . letter." I wonder what you love about the way Bethpage responds in love to our Lord's call to love him? Drop me a line and let me know how you would answer our Lord's question!
Carrie writes:
Last Sunday Ellen asked us to talk about what we loved about Jesus. Here is what I love about Jesus . . .
I love that this church loves my family. I love that we love Christ Savior Mission. I love that we are more open to new things than we really think we are. I love that you don't care that my son lights the candles and runs down the aisle when he is done! (And by the way . . . we are working on that!) I love that we are learning to disagree and still love each other. I love that you are the reason my kids love to come to church! You are their vision of Jesus Christ!
What I wish for us as a congregation is that we would continue to extend grace to one another. We all make mistakes. I wish we could forgive each other as quickly as you forgive Dalton for his running! We are all children of God! I wish we would realize our gifts as people and a church. I think our gift is LOVE, Christ's love we share! I think we do amazing things and moreover what is crazy is that some of you don't even realize the magnitude of your love! I wish for us to continue to figure out our gifts and use them . . . share them!
Until all know such love, Rev. Ellen

KAPM Breakfast Meeting
All Kannapolis area men and women are cordially invited to attend the quarterly breakfast meeting of the Kannapolis Area Presbyterian Men on Sunday, September 11th, from 8:00 until 9:00 AM in the Bethpage Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. At 8:00 AM, we shall gather around the tables for a delicious breakfast, accompanied by great fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. After a brief session, we shall most certainly be blessed by our guest speaker, Mr. Ed Hosack, Executive Director of Cooperative Christian Ministry. It is always a joy to have Ed in our presence and to hear him bear witness to the many ways God works in our community through CCM. Please invite your fellow church members, neighbors and friends to join us for this meeting.
