Women's Bible Study Groups - April Meetings
We invite the ladies of the church to join a group for Bible study, to take part in worthwhile projects, and to enjoy Christian fellowship. Please visit any of the groups and then join the one that suits you.
Study Group 1 meets Tuesday, April 5, 10:00 AM in the Session Room.
Study Group 2 meets Tuesday, April 5, 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Hostess Diane Mullinax.

"Suds of Love" Servants Needed!
Our "Suds of Love" laundromat ministry with Fred L. Wilson and Woodrow Wilson Elementary School continues on Thursday, April 21st. We need volunteers to be at Harris Laundromat (1205 West C Street, Kannapolis) on that day from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM and 6:00 until 9:00 PM. If you would be available, please contact Christel Josey (704-706-5752) or Chris Ferguson (704-680-2783). If you can't volunteer on the 21st, but would still like to help, we need donations of quarters and laundry detergent. Thanks for your support!

A Thank You Note from Children's Hope Alliance
Dear Bethpage Presbyterian Church,
Thank you for your generous gift of $256.45 received on 3/2/2016 from your Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. I am truly grateful that you share our concern for the children and families in our care. Many times we see a family on the verge of collapse find new strength, skill, and commitment to work things out. Often, we see children arrive with failing grades and attitudes, and see them leave with expectations of success and control. Time after time, we find children who are amazed that strangers really care about their well-being. What better message can we send to help them care about themselves? Thank you for all the difference you make at Children's Hope Alliance. We could not do anything without the caring and sharing of friends like you. Your help makes it all possible.

Highlights of January 18, 2016, Stated Session Meeting
- A quorum was declared by the moderator, Rev. Ellen Campbell Gardner.
- The meeting was called to order. Motion to call to order by Steve Gaskey and seconded by Diane Mullinax. Opening prayer and study by Rev. Ellen Campbell Gardner.
- Agenda was amended to include hearing a report from Cemetery Committee. Motion to approve the agenda as amended by Sherry Childers, seconded by Kim Gibson.
- Session approved the minutes from the Stated Session Meeting on November 16, 2015 and the Called Session Meeting on December 10, 2015.
- Session amended the Minutes from the Called Session Meeting on December 20, 2015. Minutes were amended to reflect budget addition to Pulpit Supply. Motion to approve as amended was made by Diane Mullinax and seconded by Eric McKnight.
- Session reviewed and approved the February 2016 calendar.
- Facilities reservation requests reviewed and approved.
- Session reviewed the 2015 Statistical Report. Diane Mullinax and Sherry Childers agreed to review the membership rolls and report back to the Session for any changes.
- Session received the Moderator's report.
- Session reviewed and approved changes in the S.O.P. as presented by the Nurture Ministry Area. Special attention to changes in ordering of flowers and Joys and Concerns policies.
- Session reviewed the November and December 2015 financial reports.
- Session agreed that 2015 end of year surplus would be applied to 2016 budget.
- Property Committee agreed to begin initial investigation for determining Bethpage Security Policy.
- Mission/Evangelism informed the Session of these two events:
- Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner to be held February 9, 2016, 5:30 until 7:30 PM. Donations received will go to Children's Hope Alliance.
- Blood Drive with Community Blood Center of the Carolinas to be held in the BPC Fellowship Hall on Monday, February 22, 2016, 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
- Session heard a report from the Cemetery Committee presented by Reid and Linda Vanpelt. Committee asked that a Bethpage Presbyterian Church Revised Guidelines effective 1-18-2016 be adopted. Session approved.
- Election of new Officers of Corporation - tabled until later date.
- Shepherd hints for January 2016 were distributed.
- Session discussed preparation for Annual Meeting on January 31, 2016 after morning worship service.
- Session was updated on Latin Mission Christ Savior by Rev. Ellen Campbell Gardner.
- Next meeting - February 15, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
- Session closed the meeting by repeating the Lord's Prayer.

NEW Procedure for Placing Flowers in the Church for Worship
Would you like to place flowers in the Bethpage church sanctuary for the Sunday morning worship service? If you would like to commemorate a special occasion in this way, please sign up on the sheet in the hallway between the Sunday school office and the sanctuary AND call Kilby's Florist at 704-933-7955 with your order and any special instructions. Make arrangements directly with Kilby's for payment. Please remember to contact Donna in the church office at least a week before your reserved Sunday, to let her know how you would like your gift of flowers recognized in The Beth Page. If you leave the flowers at the church or allow them to be distributed to our local retirement communities following the worship service, you will be bringing joy to many others AND your gift is tax deductible.
