A Word from Rev. Ellen
Since we had to close the church last Sunday, due to the ice storm, this Sunday we will continue our BELIEVE series with the subject of the Word of God. I found this poem by Cynthia Buhain Baello inspirational and hop you do as well.
Blessings, Rev. Ellen
The Word of God is a Light unto our feet
It exposes Deception and reveals Truth
By reading it daily Wisdom we meet
and our spirit will harvest Peace as fruit.
The Word of God is a Hammer that breaks
The hardest of heart, the unbelieving soul
With each pounding, Pride we forsake
And the cleansing it does will make us whole.
The Word of God is a Fire that consumes
Removing the dross and as all sin unfold
It purifies us to give out sweet perfume
Our souls are molded, we come out as gold.
The Word of God is the Rock where we build
Our life and our very sure foundation
On it we can stand and find our shield
It's Truth does not waver in any situation.
The Word of God is the Bread that sustains
Increasing our Faith and moves us to Love
Gives blessing of Mercy and the ray of Hope
The Presence of the Author, our God above.

NEW Procedure for Placing Flowers in the Church for Worship
Would you like to place flowers in the Bethpage church sanctuary for the Sunday morning worship service? If you would like to commemorate a special occasion in this way, please sign up on the sheet in the hallway between the Sunday school office and the sanctuary AND call Kilby's Florist at 704-933-7955 with your order and any special instructions. Make arrangements directly with Kilby's for payment. Please remember to contact Donna in the church office at least a week before your reserved Sunday, to let her know how you would like your gift of flowers recognized in The Beth Page. If you leave the flowers at the church or allow them to be distributed to our local retirement communities following the worship service, you will be bringing joy to many others AND your gift is tax deductible.
