For God so loved the world . . .

Dear members and friends of Bethpage Presbyterian Church,

This Holy Week and Easter is a time when the reality of the whole world and its beautiful, tragic brokenness stand in hopeful readiness for a savior to save.  Where we might discern hopelessness, God discerns loving salvation.

It is important to remember, all that this week cost God, the life of his son, the ultimate sacrifice, the terrific battle with death and triumph of the resurrection.  At the same time, it is important to consider, "What Wondrous Love Is This?"  We serve a God that does not condemn lightly, does not love partially, but has fought and continues to conquer sin and death.  The result:  life, truly abundant life IN HIM.  God so loved the world . . . and you.

Blessings, Rev. Ellen

One Great Hour of Sharing Offering, April 5th
Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God's love with our neighbors-in-need around the world.  Your generous gifts to this Special Offering help provide relief to those affected by natural disasters, provide food to the hungry, and assist n helping to empower the poor and oppressed.  Your gift to One Great Hour of Sharing will support the following:  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program and Self-Development of People.  Recognizing that the hope we have in Christ is lived out in our hope for one another, we respond with gifts that help our sisters and brothers around the world find the hope for a brighter future.  Bethpage will receive an offering for One Great Hour of Sharing this Easter Sunday, April 5th.  Please give prayerful consideration t your donations to this worthwhile cause.

There is also a sign-up sheet in the hallway between the Sunday school office and the sanctuary, where you may add your name for a particular date.
Bethpage PC Community Garden
As warm days begin to replace winter's cold, and daylight saving gives us more light in the evenings, perhaps you are thinking of growing green things.  Last year's Community Garden Project was successful for those who participated.  It would be GREAT if we have even more gardens in the fence this year.  Start thinking if YOU want to plant and grow some veggies for your table (and/or someone else's) this summer.  Speak to Dougie Kirkman, so he can let his committee know that more spaces will be needed.  Get GROWIN'!
