Finding Your Story in God's Story

If you have not heard that this week BPC is starting a 31 week walk through the Bible called The Story, you have either been away all summer or under something heavy.

What a good time Christian Education has had getting ready for this singular opportunity for the disciples at BPC to understand God's purpose and their place in God's Story of salvation told through the scriptures. You may be wondering, "How do I get involved? How does this all work?" Well, to some extent, the answer to that question is up to you! You can get involved a little bit or a whole lot!

  • On a very fundamental level you may experience The Story as a 31 week sermon series.

  • Going deeper you may decide to experience The Story DVD teaching and discussion during our Wednesday night G.I.F.T. program and worship on Sunday.

  • Are you in a Sunday school class? You may decide to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a larger group teaching and then split up into your own class for deeper discussion.  (Adult Sunday School Lessons)

  • Maybe you want to do all three. Our scripture is so rich and complex that each group will deal with different aspects of the text! If you choose to "dive in" these three adult offerings will draw you into a very deep understanding of the whole Bible.

  • Maybe you would like to do some at home private study. The Wednesday night DVD video is featured on our RightNow Media video feed.   If you haven't registered for this service, let Donna know and she will make sure you receive an invitation. Perhaps you like to journal? We have a link with a weekly selection of journaling questions that will allow an individual devotional look into the text! The journaling log can be accessed at this link.  (Personal Journaling)

  • Got Children? Our Children's ministry will be providing books and lesson plans for daily family devotions and a great Sunday program. Our very own Charlotte Penland will be leading the our wee ones in a Wednesday Night song time.

  • Our Senior Highs have their own text and an exciting DVD where an artist actually draws the read text! It must be seen to be understood!

There is a place for everyone in the story. Dive in. Don't be shy. Allow God to powerfully work in your life and your heart through The StoryBlessings, Ellen

Stop Hunger Now Packing Event - September 20th

WORLD HUNGER FACTS

  • Undernutrition contributes to 2.6 million deaths of children under five each year - one third of the global total.

  • Nearly 870 million people across the globe will go to bed hungry tonight, 200 million of them children.

  • Undernourishment kills more people every year than malaria, tuberculosis and AIDS combined.

Please join Bethpage Presbyterian Church in the fellowship hall as we sponsor a Stop Hunger Now event on Saturday, September 20th from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Stop Hunger Now is an international hunger relief agency that has been fulfilling its commitment to end hunger for more than 15 years. Their meal packaging program is a fun, hand's on mission project that is suitable for all ages. The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 21 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. These meal packages are shipped around the world to support school feeding programs and crisis relief. The food stores easily, transports quickly and has a shelf-life of two years. Stop Hunger Now meal bags are often reused as a way to serve the meals, to hold leftovers for children to take home, as containers for water and even for planting seedlings! Come join us and enjoy a time of fellowship and helping others!
