NEWS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 17, 2014
Bethpage Launches Bible Reading Campaign, The Story

The Bible is the best-selling book in history, but how many people at Bethpage have actually read it the whole way through? Your pastor, session and Christian education would like to change that. We will be using The Story, a Zondervan best-seller, to increase our Biblical literacy, helping each of us, even our wee ones, to understand God's story from Genesis to Revelation and how our own stories intersect with God's. The Story consists of 31 chapters of carefully selected scriptures sequenced in chronological order. The Story presents the Word of God in an engaging format, written by the same scholars that developed the NIV Bible, yet in a translation that reads like a novel.

The Story Church Campaign is a unique program providing up to 31 weeks of curriculum for our children, teen and adult Sunday school classes, G.I.F.T program and up to 31 weeks of corresponding sermons. Our entire church can be literally on the same page as we explore God's scriptures together.

Many of the churches that have already participated in The Story have reported increased community outreach, increased Biblical literacy, congregational growth and a greater understanding of how God's story reveals the reasons for the things that happen in man's story.

In the next few weeks you will be hearing a great deal about this exciting program. As your pastor, I am inviting you to experience The Story personally. Before our start up on September 14th, I hope you will pray about your participation. We are shooting for 100%. Commit to really diving into this Biblical experience. I know it will change your life and the life of Bethpage Presbyterian Church for the better.
