NEWS FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 22, 2014
A Word from Rev. Ellen - Seeing, Knowing and Following Jesus

Pentecost has come and gone, Easter is but a faint memory. It is summer at Bethpage Presbyterian Church. I saw a poster today entitled Porch Rules. The sign was filled with restful things that a person was directed to do - like rock in a rocking chair, read a good book, sleep, relax, etc. Rest yes, but summer is also a time in the year when we have a little space to ponder things that are meaningful to us - that the busy times of the year may not allow space to ponder. So in some ways, summer is a Holy time, a living time, a restful time. This summer we will be exploring what it means to See Jesus, Know our Savior and Follow him anew. We will look at a series of eleven texts to help us ruminate on who Jesus is in our lives. I pray that our worship together will be just the opportunity our souls have been longing for, to dwell on, reflect on and sit a spell with our Savior in new and living ways.

                                                                             God bless you- Rev. Ellen
