HRC Fitness 5K Event Raised over $10,000 for GiGi's Playhouse.

HRC Fitness hosted its first annual 5K Run/Walk and Dash for Down syndrome in the beautiful Fall weather on Sunday, October 12, 2014 turning out 300+ participants of all ages. Sponsorship and event donations totaled over $10,000 which is being used to support the opening of GiGi's Playhouse (Down syndrome Achievement Center)opening soon in Town Center II in Hillsborough.
The day began with the 5K Run and Walk at 9am, with the race start announced by Mayor Doug Tomson, and 19 minutes and 25 seconds later the top finisher, 15 year old, Tyler Baum from Hillsborough, crossed the finish line. Other top finishers from the area included David Fogelsong, Gary D'Tomas, Courtney Newman, Cassandra Rippel, and Amy Williams.
Later in the afternoon, hundreds came out to enjoy the Fall Festival. HRC Fitness would like to thank all of our sponsors, donors, and festival participants for helping to make this inaugural event a successful and memorable day!

Kid's Zumba kicked off today with Halloween Costume Class at 5pm. Class will meet on Thursdays for the next 6 weeks. Sign up now!
Kid's Yoga begins Nov 11 at 5:15pm and continues for 6 weeks on Tuesdays until Dec 16. Sign up now!

Aquatics Program Updates

- The Swimming Pool at HRC was converted to salt water!The salt water system will be more efficient, use less chemicals, and most importantly, the water will have a softer feel.
- Join Aqua Zumba on Wednesday evenings 6:45-7:30pm.
- Aqua Aerobics and Aqua Volley classes have returned to normal hours MWF at 10:00 and 11:00am.
- Registration for Swim Academy Session #6 is going on now! Classes begin November 10th and run until December 21st. If you are unsure of what level your child is at feel free to call and set up an evaluation. The evaluation takes about 10 minutes and is with one of our instructors.
- We have announced Mr. Adam as our Aquatics Employee of the Month. He continues to show excellence in his instruction in a fun and enjoyable way. He always has an enthusiastic attitude and a very knowledgeable instructor. We want to thank him for all his hard work! Mr. Adam teaches group and private lessons at HRC Fitness and specializes in PreSchool Beginner and Advanced, and Level 1. For more information on when he is teaching group lessons call the front desk, and if you are interested in private/semi lessons with Mr. Adam sign up online and put Mr Adam under special request. Any further questions, contact the Aquatics Director.
