Greetings everyone, With the holidays just around the corner I wanted to thank everyone for yet another great year. When I look back at all the wonderful people and horses that have trotted into my life this past year I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Some of the experiences I have had this year I could not have possibly even imagined in my wildest dreams. And so with 2015 knocking on the door comes a great chance to embrace the change of year and all that it brings with it!
The idea of change makes most of us cringe. Humans are, generally speaking, creatures of habit. Learning to take a deep breath, and embrace change can be transformational. While we may not see it in the moment, it is always for our highest good. In my time with horses I embrace change because it means transformation. Take a peek at the story of the horse "Harley" below in our Transformation of the Month. "You must be the change you want to see in the world." -Mahatma Gandhi
So in the spirit of embracing change I wanted the New Year to begin with a much needed makeover! I am proud to showcase the new logo design that Jackie from EqGraphics co-created. My website is currently undergoing a facelift and will be up by January 1! It should make interacting with all of you much easier. Transformations do not happen without a willingness to stick with it even if is inconvenient to oneself--- good ol' fashioned discipline. Creating a union with another creature, even if it is just to walk a fiesty stallion to his paddock, means a deep desire to work through misunderstandings or miscommunications. How convenient or easy it is to run from something because our ego is bruised, or because we feel that we are failing at it, or because it is not happening fast enough for us to benefit from momentarily. Having horses in our lives, I believe, is an everyday invitation to have courage, discipline and imagination in our lives.

And if you have some free time to spend reading (and digesting all the food you ate) check out the January issue of Warmbloods Today. The topic of my column, Warmblood Whispers, is "the 7 Myths That May be Blocking you from the Ultimate Ride!"
In the spirit of change, for those who are considering an internal makeover of their living space, check out one of our very own herd members based in Flemington! Iris Interiors can even find creative ways to use extra horseshoes around the house. Quite ingenious! Again, thank you to everyone for all the support for yet one more year. Safe travels and happy holidays to you,
Maria

We just had to share this one with you!
Transformation of the month comes from Sabrina and her horse Harley. Harley is a 10 year old Quarter Horse gelding that was purchased from the Camelot Auction this July. It has been a journey and a labor of love. He has had 3.5 months of training, tender loving care, great farrier and proper nutrition and voila! A masterpiece
