This month we want to focus on the community. We just finished a great community project for a veteran in Santa Fe.

Benjamin Moore rolled out a campaign in all 50 states to bring uplifting color paint makeovers to the homes of wounded vets. Phillip Chavez was chosen as the recipient of the color tribute in New Mexico. Chavez served with the U.S. Navy for six years and the U.S. Army for 22 years; he has been awarded the Bronze Star and three air medals for his combat service.

Our team volunteered to help with the project. We want to be part of local community projects in New Mexico. Ben Moore provided all the paint for this great initiative and our crew provided all of the labor for the Chavez's home. Additional to painting, there was a huge need for drywall and texture work. Our full time, in house drywall finisher was able to tape and texture several areas of the home and then our team completely repainted the house as well as staining and finishing the kitchen cabinets.

We are so honored and proud to have been part of this great project. It is just a small way for us to say thank you to those who have given so much. We appreciate the sacrifice of all of our dedicated soldiers.

We encourage you to help in the community in some way this coming year. We are going to start participating in a community project as a company once a quarter. There are so many ways you can get involved right now. You can: donate food at food banks, donate clothes, make meals (Ronald MC Donald house), and so much more. You can volunteer to: serve in a soup kitchen, paint walls at a shelter, yard work, be a companion for a senior citizen or child, and much more. We challenge you this winter season to think of others and how you can serve them.

Here are the details on how painter for a day works:

Instead of our regular price of $495 a day now till New Year's only $330, a professional Painter from Mike's Quality Painting will arrive stocked with all the necessary supplies ready to provide eight hours of quality work inside or out. How does it work? It is simple, no estimate is required. You just call and schedule an appointment and the painter is yours for the day.

Together, you and the painter can create a priority list. The painter will keep working down the list until the eight hours are done.

The Painter for a Day can:

• Paint a guest bathroom or a kitchen
• Touch up interior trim & paint repairs
• Paint exterior trim and more
• Perform minor repairs such as touching up dry wall cracks and repairing water stains
• Repainting of High Traffic Areas
• Add accent walls
• Graffiti removal
• Do a combination of jobs that will take up to eight hours

Please note that the Painter for a Day includes 1 gallon paint, only. If you choose to have other colors or different paint the cost is extra. The rate is good for a maximum of 3 days. Larger projects will require an estimate. Price only includes 8 hours of work to be performed per day.
