Check Out the 2016 Summer Reading List
Summer vacation should be a time to relax and create wonderful memories with friends and family. However, students should not take a break from learning altogether.
As a matter of fact, there is a well-researched phenomenon referred to as the 'summer slide' whereby students may experience a loss of their academic skills over the summer if they are not engaged in some sort of educational activity.
Summer Reading Can:
- Increase a student's performance
- Increase opportunities for family engagement
- Increase a student's overall motivation to read
Please click here to view all grade levels of the 2016 Summer Reading Lists. You may want to check with the public library or your local bookstore to get a jump on summer reading!
