Here's the Latest: KINDERGARTEN
The Board of Education has formally decided that there will not be a Full-Day Kindergarten program for the 2016-2017 school year in the Wayne Township Public Schools. All registered incoming kindergarten students are confirmed for a Half-Day Kindergarten program. If you have not fully completed the registration process, and you are planning to have your child(ren) attend the Half-Day Kindergarten program, please schedule an appointment online at wayneschools.com (after March 28) or call your child's school directly to schedule your in-person appointment to provide all necessary documentation.
At this time, the Board of Education continues to explore the implementation of a Kindergarten Wrap-Around program. This program is designed to complement and extend a student's overall kindergarten experience in a half-day model. This model offers enrichment activities that are consistent with the methodology and philosophy of the regular kindergarten classroom instruction. Time, materials, and support would be provided to enrich the experiences that children obtain in our current half-day program. For more information about the proposed Kindergarten Wrap-Around Program model, please click on the link below to view our informational brochure.

NJQSAC Equivalency Process for High Performing School Districts
We proudly present Wayne's NJQSAC Equivalency Waiver Process and our results. NJQSAC stands for New Jersey's Quality Single Accountability Continuum and is the Department of Education's monitoring and evaluation system. QSAC evaluates districts through a single comprehensive accountability process that consolidates and incorporates the monitoring requirements of applicable state laws and federally-required improvements. Through NJQSAC, districts are monitored according to five components that, based on research, have been identified to be key factors in effective school districts: Instruction & Program, Operations, Governance, Fiscal, and Personnel.
Performance in each of the five QSAC areas resulted in the Wayne Township Public Schools being designated as a "High Performing District". As a result, the district is eligible to submit an equivalency application which will waive completion of an extensive monitoring process. Public comment on the proposal and process was provided at the March 17, 2016 Board of Education meeting.
We're very pleased to have been recognized as a high-performing district, especially during this period of high accountability measures in public education. Finally, we wish to acknowledge the contributions of all district staff: administration, instructional, support, transportation, and buildings and grounds personnel. We also would like to thank the Board of Education, our students, and school families, for their contributions to this well-deserved designation.
