2016-2017 Pre-School Registration
Wayne Preschool
The Wayne Preschool Program provides an opportunity for our students to learn new skills in preparation for school readiness. Our classes are located in four of our elementary schools. Preschool instruction is based on the methodology of the Creative Curriculum and aligns with New Jersey State and Common Core Standards. Interest areas are utilized to promote independent learning across all academic, personal, social, communication, and motor developmental domains. Daily activities include language arts, math, music, physical education, computer learning, art, self-care, and socialization. All activities are implemented to promote student independence and readiness for kindergarten.
Enrollment for September 2016
Children from the ages of three to five years are eligible to enter into our preschool program. Class sizes are limited so enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. The first step in obtaining placement for your child for the upcoming school year is to complete the online 2016-2017 Preschool Placement Request form that can be found on the Preschool Page on the wayneschools.com website. Click here to access the preschool webpage.
We offer morning (8:20 am to 10:55 am) or afternoon (12:10 pm to 2:45 pm) classes for either five days or three days (Mon.-Wed.-Fri.) a week. Additional information is also available on the district website.
In Response to Wayne Patch Article:
On March 15th, Tom Davis wrote an article appearing in the Wayne Patch that was completely false. "You Won't Believe How Much Wayne And Other School Districts Pay 100 People Who Don't Work" was an article listing annual pension payments made to retired employees from school districts from across the state. The article is false due to the fact that no school districts in New Jersey make pension payments to retired employees. Payments to eligible retirees are made from the Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund, which is a fund managed by the state.
