Wayne Students Honor Our Veterans

awAnthony Wayne Middle School recognized veterans with a school-wide assembly and luncheon. Over 40 veterans attended with Anthony Wayne family members for the 11th Annual Celebration. All students and staff attended and enjoyed an outstanding performance by the chorus and the 7th/8th concert Band.

In addition to the inspiring musical selections, a video including photos of the veterans who attended was shown and select students read their poetry. A wonderful time was had by all!

scSchuyler-Colfax Middle School hosted its annual Veterans Day program with 21 veterans in attendance, each a relative of a Schuyler-Colfax student. The day began with breakfast, followed by a recognition ceremony and performances by the band and chorus.

Fifteen of the veterans in attendance shared their time, stories, and memorabilia in small "town hall" style meetings with students. Students were able to hear first-hand accounts from living primary sources and engage in meaningful conversation with true heroes.

gwGeorge Washington Middle School held its annual Veterans Day celebration beginning with a breakfast in honor of the veterans.

The band and chorus performed numbers that celebrated each branch of military service, as well as recognized the commitment these men and women had made for their country. Students shared poems and the school-wide winning poster based on the theme "Heroes Among Us".
