Election Day -- A Day ON for Wayne Teachers
Staff members across the district participated in a variety of professional development experiences. The district offered:
Elementary School Presentation: NJDOE Assistant Commissioner of Education, keynote speaker, Kimberly Harrington, delivered an uplifting presentation about the work of elementary school teachers and how classroom dynamics have changed in some ways, but not in others.
The district appreciates Assistant Commissioner Harrington taking time out of her busy schedule to attend our professional development day.
Middle School Presentation: A nationally-recognized presenter, author, and humorist, Jack Berckemeyer, presented to all of our middle school educators and administrators.
Jack Berckemeyer is known for his motivating, practical ideas communicating a message of hope, laughter, and insight into education.
Jack brought his energy, humor, and expertise to all staff as he reinforced the message of why being a middle school educator makes a difference.
Workshop opportunities: Grade Level team Planning Meetings, Kindergarten Strategies for teaching Reading and Writing, enVision Program PD, Sax Arts Presentation for Art Teachers, Instrumental/Vocal Music iPad training and articulation, Team Planning with Media Specialists, GATES, and ELL Teachers, and Technology training.

A Message from the Superintendent regarding the PARCC Score Report
Dear Parents:
Over the next few weeks, I will be providing you with information about the PARCC score report that you will be receiving. The new score report is much different when compared to the report you received previously for the NJASK and HSPA. We are hopeful that you will have your child's PARCC score report in advance of the holidays.
For this week, we will be focusing on looking at the actual score reports and how you as a parent can learn about interpreting the score report. Please click here to learn more about the PARCC score reports.
Regards,
Mark Toback, Ed.D.
