January 29, 2015 Board Meeting Presentations
1) Kindergarten Feasbility Study-Recently, a number of residents requested that the school district consider creating a full-day kindergarten program. In response, the Wayne Township Board of Education contracted with the consulting firm Good to Great LLC to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of expanding all kindergarten classes to full-day. The public is welcome to attend a presentation to hear about the major findings of the study.

2) Referendum for Safety and Security Projects-The New Jersey Department of Education appoved a series of safety and security projects and awarded the Wayne Township Public Schools a grant to support those projects. The projects and the grant are both subject to voter approval. In order to move ahead, the district is required to present the plan to the public and to then schedule a referendum which will allow the voters to determine if the projects will be undertaken. The public is invited to learn more about our plan to improve safety and security and to learn about the significant financial incentive that exists at this time. The grant will expire at the end of the school year if no action is taken.
