2014-15 Final Budget
On Thursday, May 1, the Board of Education adopted the final budget to support the 2014-15 school year. By the numbers, the total general fund budget for the school budget is as follows:
Total general fund budget: $144,062,520
General fund tax levy amount: $133,926,961
Combined tax impact for average home assessment of $228,200: $165
Increase over last year's general fund tax levy: 1.89%
 Once again, the final adopted budget reflects the ability of the district to continue to move forward. Class-sizes will remain intact. All existing extra-curricular programs and athletics will remain intact. Instructional, technology, and facilities initiatives will continue to progress as planned. And to do all this amidst the increasing demands placed upon our schools from the state and federal level remains to be no simple task. The Board of Education is to be commended for their continued support of the school district as they balance fiscal and instructional priorities for the community. Now knowing what's ahead for 2014-15, plans will be enacted to close out this school year and move ahead with certainty into the next.

As teacher appreciation week draws to a close, we thank our teachers for being models of patience, honesty, wisdom, responsibility, generosity and for their commitment to lifelong learning.
Our teachers are passionate about the subjects they teach. They inspire our students each and every day, and they work tirelessly to ensure each of our students success. Our teachers play a key role in educating the next generation, and for that we say, thank you!
