SAVE THE DATE: January 16 - Budget Development Public Input Session
Although we still have six months left in the current school year, we are already planning for next year starting with the development of the 2014-15 budget. Actually the administration started building the budget back in October and it has been on-going ever since. The task is proving to be difficult once more.
Over the years, all school districts throughout New Jersey have faced increasing challenges to educate our students thoroughly and efficiently amidst tremendous fiscal constraints. Therefore, now more than ever, prioritization will be key in our budgetary decision-making. This is where you come in.
This year, the Board has initiated several steps aimed at gathering direct input from our school community throughout the budget development process. Beginning last month members of the Board's finance committee met with different stakeholder groups to solicit their input on budget priorities and considerations. Next week, the Board will be issuing a brief on-line survey in order to get your feedback based upon specific areas of interest identified by the various Board committees.
One survey will be issued to the community at large and another will be targeted directly to instructional staff. Also, on Thursday, January 16 at 7:00 PM in the auditorium Wayne Hills High School, the Board will be hosting the first of two public input sessions where you can provide direct input to the Board on your educational priorities for our schools...

PTO Parent Directory Update
This year, the District teamed up with the PTO to streamline the publication of the PTO Parent Directory; however, due to unforeseen technical difficulties on the part of the District, we have experienced significant delays in providing the PTOs with their directories. Fortunately, through the patience and diligence of the school PTOs working with our technology department we expect the publications to be completed by the end of next week. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
