Halloween Happenings



There's lots of Halloween fun going on around town!


Wayne Halloween Festival Today, Thursday the 24th, the Wayne Department of Parks & Recreation will be having their 'Halloween Festival' for all Wayne children in grades K-5 at Wayne Hills High School at 4:30pm. Refreshments will be served to all costumed children immediately after the show. Candy and goody bags will also be distributed. Names for door prizes will be drawn from registration forms turned in.

Wayne 'Trunk or Treat' Event Tomorrow, Friday the 25th, the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne will be hosting their 'Trunk or Treat' event! They will have music, snacks, and of course some trunk-or-treating! Prizes will be given out for the best trunk, funniest trunk, and scariest trunk! Trunk-or-Treating begins at 7:15pm. The gym will open later for snacks and music.

Wayne PAL Halloween Party Next week on Wednesday October 30th, the Wayne PAL will be hosting their annual 'Spooktacular Halloween Party'! Doors open at 5pm and the fun will continue to 9pm. Activities include Bounce House, Scavenger Hunt, Video Games, Hayrides, Face Painting, Costume Contest, Haunted House, Pumpkin Painting and more! The only admission fee is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Wayne Food Bank.

Halloween Candy Buy Back Finally, when you don't know what to do with all of that Halloween candy, there is a 'Candy Buy Back' at the Shoprite of Little Falls on Friday, November 1st from 3-7pm! Receive $1 for every pound of candy you bring in. Heaviest Bag of Candy will receive a Mystery Grand Prize! All donated candy will be sent to the troops overseas!

Community Forum on Teen Drug Use


Wayne Schools- Teen Drug Use Seminar On October 7, 2013, the school district joined the Township of Wayne to sponsor a community forum on teen drug use. Over 365 people came out that evening to hear presentations by a panel of experts who shared information and experiences about this serious problem.

Wayne Schools- Weeks of Respect and Violence Awareness A variety of activities marked the observation of the Weeks of Respect and Violence Awareness in our schools this month. At the elementary level, students learned and demonstrated ways to show respect for themselves, others and the community.
