Week of RespectWeek of Respect

The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (P.L.2010, c.122) requires that the week beginning with the first Monday in October of each year be designated as a "Week of Respect" in New Jersey. Therefore, this week, October 7-11, all schools will engage in age-appropriate instructional activities that focus on preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB).

Since signed into law in January 2011, the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights (ABR) strengthened the commitment of schools and districts across the state to address this very serious problem. The focus of the ABR is multifaceted and outlines the expectations that everyone must follow in order to not only respond to HIB, but to also do what we can to prevent it from ever happening. Every student has the right to attend school and receive an education in a safe and positive learning environment. All members of the school community must do their part to support a climate free of HIB.

Last year, the district launched the Helping Every One Respect Others initiative to promote the HEROs within us all. Numerous events and activities occurred over the year to encourage everyone to become "upstanders" by taking on a more active role in putting an end to the bullying of others. As we....

New 5th Grade Camp Location: Fairview Lake Fall Encampments
Wayne Schools- 5th Grade Camp Location As part of our 5th Grade Environmental Education program, students will be camping out at Fairview Lake YMCA Camp in Stillwater, NJ.

Three of our elementary schools are scheduled for the Fall and the remaining schools are scheduled for the Winter and Spring.

 		GW Fitness Track Opening

Wayne Schools- GW Fitness Track Opening On October 2, 2013 school and township officials joined the school community to cut the ribbon and officially open the newly installed GW Fitness track.

Through a shared services agreement, the school district was able to receive heavy equipment support to carve out the track while our district grounds team took care of installing the edging, layers of cinder, and landscaping. The end result - a beautiful track for...
