Joe Jennings will lead part one of two Reader's Theatre classes that consider Lent.  This unique and thoughtful gathering will follow the 10am service on March 1 & March 22.   
 
 In case you would like to read the plays in advance:
On March 1st, "The Testament of Mary," by Colm Toibin, a 2013, Man Booker Prize - shortlisted novel rewritten for the theatre.  
On March 22nd, "Murder in the Cathedral" by T.S. Eliot, portraying the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in Canterbury cathedral in 1170.

Siempre Unidos The Rev. Pascual Torres
This Sunday


 

Siempre Unidos is our sister ministry in Honduras that provides care for those who suffer from HIV/AIDS.  Dr. Denise Main of the St. Stephen's congregation is one of the founders.  This Sunday, the Rev. Pascual Torres (Director) will visit St. Stephen's.  To read about Siempre Unidos click here.

 

The children will begin their annual collection of coins to purchase turkeys and pigs for Siempre Unidos.  "Piggy banks" coming home!  All the change (& paper money) will be gathered on Palm Sunday.

The Outdoor Club will meet at Blackie's Pasture at 9:30am for a local hike at Bon Tempe lake on Monday, March 2.  Pack a light lunch or snack & water. We will return by 2pm.

Join your St. Stephen's family for music and supper at 6pm in the nave (Church) on March 4th and 18th.  Soup served in the Hall at 7pm.  

Dee Bell and John Karl Hirten will offer sacred and gospel music on March 4th and former Benny Goodman guitarist Eddie Duran will present swing jazz with his wife Madaline on saxophone on March 18th.  Following both services everyone can enjoy a family-style soup supper.  If you can, bring a salad, bread, or non-alcoholic drink to share.
Youth Overnight - TIME CHANGE March 7th

The Youth Group will be doing an overnight in the sanctuary on Staurday, March 7th (Time Change night), beginning at 5:30pm.  It will be a lot of fun with dinner, games, movies, and by the end all attendees will be experts on how to interpret dreams! Sunday, March 8: REST (Rotating Emergency Shelter) Dinner - Let Shari know if you can cook and/or serve 4-7pm.  You will also be invited (after the service this Sunday) to contribute specific food items as well, e.g. 2 gallons of milk, or a bag of potatoes.  Everything helps!

Gratitude Circle

Explore and experience God's grace during Lent by being a part of the Gratitude Circle that began last Sunday.  A Gratitude Circle is a spiritual practice for busy people to improve their ability to feel and see God's grace in their daily lives, and embody God's grace to others.
