Directory Pictures
This Sunday
It is time for a new St. Stephen's Directory. If you have never had your picture in the directory or would like to have a new picture taken please plan to have yours taken this Sunday by Bob McCaskill (left), Chris Simpson Brent (middle) or Philip Norris (right). They will be in the courtyard or Kimball Hall (if it is raining). Look for one of these three and make sure you are in the next edition of the St. Stephen's Directory.
Also, have you alerted St. Stephen's to any address, phone or email changes in the last year? [email protected]

Adult Education: Mere Christianity
April 27 & May 4
11:15am
Join Karl Belgum for another book discussion. Please consider reading it and joining the group. This one will be Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It was discussed a little at the last Bonhoeffer session, and will provide a nice comparison since Lewis was a contemporary of Bonhoeffer and was active during the same dramatic times as when the Bonhoeffer story took place. The book had its origins in a series of radio broadcasts during the war, and while those are about Christianity, not the war per se, one can't help considering that Lewis was helping the British locate themselves, morally, as a Christian people, in a time of war. It is short, interesting and written in a lively and engaging style.

Summer Music
John Hirten invites parishioners to lend their talents over the summer, even for just one Sunday. If you play (or have played) an instrument (any instrument at even the most basic level), or if you sing, please let John know, even if you have limited experience!
John will schedule you for one Sunday in the summer, and meet with you several weeks in advance. You will learn a simple melody that John writes for you based on your level that will require minimal practice time, if any. Then you and he will meet at 9:15am on the Sunday that you would perform and you and he will play together. Again, even limited experience is fine! Please talk to John after the service or call him at 415.435.4501 x17.

Earth and Altar
An active exploration of our relationships with God, earth and one another.
Act: Buy a bird book complete with a CD of bird calls and learn to ldentify the birds that are singing outside your window.
Pray: Lord, the air smells good today, straight from the mysteries within the garden of God. The trees in their prayer, the birds in praise,
the first blue violets, kneeling. ~ Rumi
