Artists in Residence
Beginning this Sunday
Ruth Shreve Grant is a long-time member of St. Stephen's Church who will be exhibiting her work in the foyer gallery space for the remaining month of April. Ruth's stunningly designed watercolors present bits and pieces of her daily life in a unique way. Ruth began painting with Nela Wattley a few years ago following the death of her brother, Charles Shreve. She finds great joy in the fun of watercolor and in her trips to various locations with her friend, Nela and Nela's company. Ruth has exhibited at Art Angels.
Sarah Lowry, a new member of the church, has been an artist for most of her adult life, often working in portraiture. Sarah is exhibiting her rendition of "Picasso's Eye" after a black and white portrait of PIcasso by Irving Penn.
Don't miss stopping by to see the exciting owrk of our April artists. |

Mark your calendars, and let's support our youth who have worked so hard, this year, to expand their faith. |
Bishop John Thornton will be on hand for services to celebrate and preach. Former rector Jim Ward will also be on hand - and if we are fortunate, former rector Bill Rankin will also join us! Come experience some of the living history of St. Stephen's on this extraordinary "Rector Day." |
Adult Confirmation or Reception
Saturday
27 April
In the Episcopal tradition, new members are formally confirmed (as adults) when they join the Episcopal Church. This practice is no longer universal, nor is it required, but it provides a lovely way for new members to affirm their faith publicly. (In the case of former Roman Catholics, the term is not "confirmed," but "received.") If you are interested in being confirmed or received by Bishop Thornton on April 27, please see Rob Gieselmann or Shari Young. |
