Most CPA's in past years have been advising their medical professionals to pay less tax in a given year. However, if the tax rates increase in 2013 based on indications from the news you might want to:

1)Talk to your patients or insurance companies concerning paying your practice now so you can report the income this year and pay the taxes at a lower tax rate.

2) Shift your bill paying and expenses to 2013 where you will receive increased tax savings if the tax rates increase.

3)  Sell rental properties, stocks or bonds and other assets that produce a capital gain so you can pay those taxes at a lower tax rate than 2013 when the rates may increase.

HCCI recently released their second Health Care Cost and Utilization Report for year 2011. The findings from 2011's report reflect healthcare spending of about 40 million employer-sponsored insured individuals.  The HCCI report included findings from a procedure called 'completion', in which actuaries estimate metrics for claims that were incomplete.

One of the most popular requests MOROF receives is about staffing issues.  Medical facilities are in need of a better way to find quality staff. While the conventional ways of finding applicants work most of the time, they can be expensive and limited. The cost is almost always paid by the provider and if the employee does not work out the provider has to pay again to begin the tedious process.

A flurry of office parties, family get-togethers, travel, traditional feasts, volunteering, and shopping for those perfect gifts: that's what the holidays mean for many of us. If the thought of all that busyness makes you cringe, you aren't alone! One way to maintain control and hold on to your sanity during the holidays is to pay special attention to what you eat and drink. You don't need to deprive yourself of your favorite holiday splurges to feel balanced and energized for whatever comes your way!

Marketing
Expand your Reach with Multi-Channel Marketing
As you know, none of your contacts are the same. While email may work great for communicating with an established client, it may look like spam to a prospect...if they see it at all. And, while a phone call is perfect for a prospect who's ready to buy, someone who's still early in the research stage may be better served by an online touch.

Disaster Recovery: The Importance of Having a Backup Plan

Having a disaster recovery plan in place for your IT infrastructure is important for any medical office, no matter what the size. Many providers, especially those with small prctices, don't think about what would happen to their data if an unplanned disaster were to occur. Others don't want to take on the cost of planning ahead because it is not an immediate issue.

Regular Medical Computer Maintenance

Take a minute to think about the last time you performed regular maintenance on your computer. Now think about how often you or your IT technician performs these tasks. For most people, they either don't think about regular maintenance and updates or they don't know how important it is for your machine to function properly.

 A Mother at 65!

With the help of a fertility specialist, a 65 year old woman has a baby.

All her relatives come to visit and meet the newest member of their family.

When they ask to see the baby, the 65 year old mother says "not yet."

A little later they ask to see the baby again.

Again the mother says "not yet."

Finally they say, "When can we see the baby?"

And the mother says, "When the baby cries."

And they ask, "Why do we have to wait until the baby cries?"

The new mother says, "because I forgot where I put it."

By My Side

Her husband had been slipping in and out for a coma for several months yet she stayed by his bedside every single day.
When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer.
As she sat by him, he said, "You know what?
You have been with me all through the bad times.
When I got fired, you were there to support me.
When my business fell, you were there.
When I got shot, you were by my side.
When we lost the house, you gave me support.
When my health started failing, you were still by my side."
She just smiled and held his hand.
He then continued, saying "When I think about it now, I think you bring me bad luck."

Patient: Doctor, what I need is something to stir me up; something to put me in a fighting mood. Did you put something like that in this prescription?

Doctor: No need for that. You will find that in your bill.
