About the Road Map Region Race to the Top Grant
In 2012, seven King County, Washington, school districts joined forces and won $40 million in federal Race to the Top funds. The participating school districts are Auburn, Federal Way, Highline, Kent, Renton, Seattle and Tukwila. The districts dubbed themselves The Road Map District Consortium, a reference to their participation in the Road Map Project, a community-wide effort in South Seattle and South King County to drive major educational improvement with a focus on personalized learning.
Dear ,
We have some big developments to share this week. First, we would like to congratulate Seattle on a successful in-school SAT Day on February 26th! Also, the Community Center for Education Results (CCER) has just released reports for each district that supplement the 2013 Road Map Region Results Report.

Seattle In-School SAT Day Benefits Hundreds of Students
|
On February 26th, hundreds of students at Seattle high schools (including Chief Sealth International, Cleveland, Franklin, Interagency Academy, Rainier Beach and South Lake) were able to take the SAT test at no cost, thanks to support from Race to the Top. Taking the test ensures students' ability to apply to a four year college in their senior year, if they choose to do so.
SAT Day is an opportunity for students across the Road Map Region to take the SAT for free, during the school day, at their own school. It is funded through Race to the Top's Project 7 (Adopt the College Board College & Career Readiness Pathway). On April 16th, SAT Day will take place for juniors in Auburn, Federal Way, Highline, Kent, Renton and Tukwila.
For some of the positive community reaction to the In-School SAT Day in Seattle, please see this highlight in the West Seattle Blog. More information about the SAT and College Readiness Pathway may be found here, including flyers for families in ten different languages commonly spoken throughout the region.

2013 Road Map Project Technical and District Reports Released
|
The Community Center for Education Results (CCER) has released a Technical Report and individual District Reports for 2013. These reports supplement the Road Map Project's 2013 Results Report, which was released by CCER on December 12th. The 2013 Technical Report includes additional data and information to supplement the 2013 Results Report data on 33 indicators of student success. In addition, individual District Reports provide district-specific data. The purpose of the reports is to facilitate a dialogue about the data examined. To access the Road Map Project Reports, please see the Road Map Project's reports page.
