RTT-D Briefings with Mayor Mike McGinn and Seattle City Council

Recently, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn and the Seattle City Council received briefings of the RTT grant. The presentations included overviews of grant goals and projects, as well as a focus on what the grant means for Seattle.
At the meeting with Mayor Mike McGinn, his informal Education Leadership Team (ELT) was also in attendance. The ELT strives to improve education and student outcomes through networking and innovative methods of funding.
During the city council briefing, council members were presented with different data pieces that emphasized Seattle's role in the consortium. Further, council members asked many interesting questions, including how they could support the work of the grant.

RFP Project 1 Preview: July 1st

The Road Map Region Race to the Top will release the RFP for Project 1: Investment Fund for Teaching and Leading on July 1st. The goal of this investment fund is to improve teacher and principal practices around personalized learning environments.

U.S. Dept of Education Seeking Strong Principals for Ambassador Program
Do you know of any principals who have excellent skills in leadership, communication and policy development? The US Department of Education is seeking individuals who meet these qualifications to apply for the inaugural Principal Ambassador Fellowship program!
Principal Ambassadors will contribute their experiences and ideas to the national dialogue of education policy and reform, which includes the Race to the Top program. Additionally, they will benefit from rich discussions with other principals from across the country and take part in shaping the program for future ambassadors.
The Principal Ambassador Fellowship is a part-time, paid position that does not require relocation. The application deadline is July 16th, 2013.
