February 2014

Greetings!

Thank you for your continued interest in our monthly eNews.
UCSF study: Genetic Markers linked to the Development of Lymphedema in Breast Cancer Survivors.

UCSF is the first to conduct a study to evaluate the genetic predictors of lymphedema. In this study they tracked 400 women over the course of four to five years and was published on online in PLOS ONE.

Senior Author of the study, Bradley Aoizerat, PhD states:
"These genes are 'turned on' later in the development of our lymph system and blood vessels. They appear to play a role in the ability of our lymphatic system to function on an ongoing basis. It is possible in some individuals who have changes in these genes, that lymphedema could develop after an injury like breast cancer surgery because these genes do not function properly."

 Ask Kelly

Hi Kelly,

I have a ReidSleeve classic, 1/2 leg length and I received a liner with the ReidSleeve.  This liner is wonderful and I love that I can wash and dry it.  Is it possible to get extra liners?

Thank you in advance and you may use my first name!
Callina

Dear Callina,

Yes, give me a call toll free 1-800-293-3362 or email me at [email protected]. I am happy to assist you in obtaining more liners. This is not an unusual request and it helps to keep the inside of the ReidSleeve clean and dry.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Kelly
