  Ask Kelly |
 Dear Kelly,
I purchased a ReidSleeve classic from a local vendor and paid cash as I was told my insurance would not cover the costs. I read on your website that most insurances cover the costs. I submitted one of the insurance verification forms (after the fact) and one of your billing specialists told me I did have coverage. I contacted my insurance and confirmed this and when I called the place I purchased from they stuck to their guns that it wasn't covered, is there any recourse? (I KNOW I should have checked first!!) Jerilynn (you may use my first name)

Dear Jerilynn, Insurance billing is not my particular specialty and you really ought to call and talk to one of our billing staff. However, I ran your question by them. In a nutshell, depending on your insurance agreement, you may be able to submit the claim yourself.  If they tell you they are contracted with whomever you purchased the garment through, then they may be contractually obligated to submit the claim on your behalf. (Some insurance companies don't allow their members to file the claim themselves.) If you can submit it yourself, call us and ask to speak with one of our billing staff. They can apprise what documents to file the claim with for reimbursement. Good luck and act fast as there may be a statute of limitations on claim filing.
Special Note: For any of our eNews readers, please use our verification services if you are ever told it's not covered! We do this at no charge and no obligation!   Sincerely,
  Kelly
