Greetings!

Here is your monthly newsletter from the GCA.  As always, we welcome your feedback.

Leaf Removal Continues...
The GCA's Leaf Removal is well under way.  As a reminder, here is the list of streets and their scheduled pick-up week.  (The recent wet weather may cause some delay in these dates.)  Have leaves piled up within 8 feet of your roadside, but not on the road itself or near your mailbox or walking path. Bagged leaves, brush, shrubbery or any other debris will not be collected.  Please do not pile leaves on any GCA common area, especially the Piper Way median, or any vacant lot.
Leaf Pickup Weeks

Christmas Trash Pickup
Trash Can Christmas Day this year falls on a Wednesday, and Tammy Judge, of Dixon Disposal, tells us that they work ALL holidays EXCEPT Christmas!  So the Christmas week trash pickup will be on Thursday December 26  - have the can at the curb the night prior or on Thursday morning by 7am.  They can also take Christmas trees 6 ft and under at the curb beside the can on any regular pick up day after Christmas at no charge!  The week of New Year's they will be back to regular Wednesday pick up.

Survey Completed

Over 450 residents completed the recent Survey issued by the pensieve-work-man.jpgStrategic Plan Committee.  This is a remarkably high response rate, and we are grateful to all of you who completed it.  We expect to publish a summary of results next month.  In addition, the survey will greatly assist in shaping the GCA's 5-year Strategic Plan which is currently under development.

GCA Board Nominations
Checkmark Three new board members will need to be elected at the February 27, 2014 Annual Meeting of the GCA.  Don Sundgren (2012 GCA President) has agreed to chair a Nominating Committee to recommend candidates.  If you, or someone you know, would be interested in becoming a GCA board member, please let Don know by emailing him at [email protected] prior to January 10, 2014

On-Line Directory of Residents
Did you know that Glenmore now has an on-line directory of residents smart_flipphone.jpgand phone numbers?  It's only accessible by residents, and is included as part of the on-line access to your gatehouse information, which you can access from the gatehouse page of the GCA's website at glenmore-community.org.  This gatehouse information also allows you to update your contact information, vehicles, residents, and permanent guests, as well as notify the gatehouse directly of your expected visitors.

Enforcement of Covenants
Requiring residents to conform with Glenmore's Covenants is a necessary (though sometimes unpopular) part of the GCA's role in maintaining standards of appearance within the community.  It is an ongoing task which gets little publicity.  Every month the GCA Board reviews a list of violations which have been addressed.  We are pleased to report that in almost all cases the residents involved cooperate with requests to take actions, without having to resort to more formal enforcement actions. As an example, at the November GCA Board meeting reports included the following: overhanging branches trimmed back, a birdhouse painted, two mailboxes refurbished, a sign removed from a yard, and clutter removed from another yard.  Dottie Martin works on behalf of the board in resolving such issues.  If you see a potential violation, you should contact her on 971-7081 or send an email to [email protected].
