Greetings!

Season's greetings to all Glenmore residents and owners!  As always, the board members of the GCA welcome your feedback.

Christmas Tree Pickup - CHANGE OF DATE!
Please note the GCA's roadside Christmas tree pick-up will be starting Monday January 7th, a few days later than announced in the last newsletter. Please have your tree (naturals only, without any decorations, stand, nails, wires, etc.) at your driveway entrance by 8:00 A.M.  If the weather is bad or the pick-up cannot be completed in one day, collection will be extended to later in the week.
GCA Board Nominations
Checkmark Reminder - Cole Hendrix, chairman of the Nominating Committee, is still looking for potential GCA board members for the 2012/2013 term. Elections will be held at the February 21, 2013 Annual Meeting.   If you, or someone you know, would be interested in serving as a GCA board member, please let Cole know at [email protected], or call him on 295-5295 by January 10th.

  Glenmore Water Tank Meetings
The Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) is moving forward with its plan to locate a ground- level water tank on property adjacent to the fire station in front of Glenmore.  The intent is to provide  a short term emergency water supply if there should be damage to the single pipeline from Pantops which supplies our community.

The proposed location, off Steamer Drive, is on property jointly owned by Albemarle County and the East Rivanna Fire Station.  The ACSA is finalizing a sales contract to secure a permanent easement for use of this land. Because it is partly owned by Albemarle County, the Board of Supervisors is required to hold a public hearing, which has been provisionally scheduled for their January 16 meeting.

An important contingency of the contract is that the ACSA is satisfied that GCA supports the decision.  In order to properly present the project and its implications to residents, and assess the level of support, the ACSA is arranging a public meeting with the Glenmore community, which is tentatively scheduled for February 27, in the East Rivanna Fire Station building. Make a note of the date - residents will receive a separate notification in the mail from the ACSA.

Taking a Stroll?
dog Walker Taking a stroll around Glenmore, with or without a dog, can be very pleasant. But there are several privately owned vacant lots, such as the one between Glen Lochan lake in section S and Pendower Lane,  which are being used as a short-cut by some residents.  Please respect the rights of these property owners, and keep to the designated paths!  Thank you.
