The Quilter's Color Club has lots of info on every aspect of color. You can find my book on my website .

Nature Does Color Best
Ombrés have always been "popular" in nature, as you can see in this photo taken at Butchart Gardens. There's a color lesson here, too: Very dark values, like the background in this image, make intense colors look even more intense.

Louise's Market Bag
Combining fabrics has to be my favorite step in making a quilt, or in this case, a bag. I chose a green Marcia Derse print, a Kaffe Fassett stripe, and a multicolored batik. The fabrics are sewn onto a foundation of pet-screen material. Not the easiest "fabric" to work with, but it makes for a very durable bag.

New in the Store
I've added seven new ombrés, from the "Serenity" line. These are more muted, with rich, low-intensity colors that make them perfect for new-neutral palettes. You can get them in a kit of 10-inch strips, shown here, or as yardage in my Store. There you can also see them in three sample blocks, with Kaffe stripes and Marcia Derse prints.

Ombré Fever Continues!
As you may have noticed, I love circles quilts. This one has lots of pattern action: highly patterned florals, near-solid ombrés, stripes, and a large-scale white-and-black print. It's borderline chaos, but I just
had to have those striped shadows. It's a variation on my "Elegant Circles" pattern in my Store, with sashing directions included.

Here's what I love about making circle quilts: when you cut away from the back, you get these fabulous "bonus circles" with asymmetrical color. Heck, it's worth making the quilt to get these circles!

I think I should use the circles with this Alexander Henry fabric, which I've had in my stash for some time. There's a bonus here: transparency. Too much fun!

Lecture and Workshop Schedule
