The Quilter's Color Club has lots of info on every aspect of color. You can find my book on my  website, at C&T, and in quilt shops and bookstores.

Check out my lecture and workshop schedule at the end of this newsletter. I'm always adding new dates.

It's time to . . .  Retreat!
Retreat to a special place of color, creativity, and fun, that is. I'm gearing up for three different retreats this year, at Tahoe and Sugar Pine Quilt Shop. Check out my Retreat page for details. If you've already been to one of my "Magic Fabrics, Special Effects" retreats, you're welcome to come and study independently, with lots of feedback and help from me. For example, you might want to work on an abstract or nonrepresentational design like my quilt "Earthscape."

New Work
Here's "Lustrous Squares II," 48" x 48", made using Gradations ombrés and Kaffe Fassett prints. I wanted to space out the blocks with a black-and-white fabric, but to keep the blocks from blending into the sashing, I added narrow red flanges. The skinny strips of intense color make the blocks appear to advance, as if they're floating above the background. For the blocks, I used nine of the ten Gradations fabrics in the the packet of 5-inch strips available in my Store. Cathy Stone worked her magic with the machine quilting.

Next time. . .
Once again, I've been sidetracked. Sigh. This month's newsletter is short; next time, that promised article on stripes!
Lecture and Workshop Schedule

Note: You can often attend guild meetings and take their workshops if you aren't a member. If you're interested in any of these events, let me know, and I'll put you in touch with the guild.

About This Newsletter

If you've received this newsletter, you may have attended one of my workshops or bought one of my books, patterns, or color wheels. It's easy to opt out, below, but I hope you'll stick around to see what's in store. It's all about color, using it, enjoying it, and sharing it with other quilters.

Thank-you!
