Thank you for taking the time to get caught up with current details about our organization. Last month was extremely tough for many of us who work in this movement. The exposure of Planned Parenthood really weighed heavily upon me. It became more evident than ever that I have a huge responsibility on my shoulders to constantly manage, evaluate and improve our organization's services to protect these mothers, babies and future generations.
Thankfully, God doesn't call me to do it alone! You are a vital part of this organization by the words you speak about us among your church family and friends, the donations you invest in saving lives with us and the PRAYERS you lift up for us!
God really laid something on my heart last week that I believe is a verse written about a moment in history that we can easily draw a parallel for all of us, Esther 4:14.
What if
we were all born for "such a time as this?"
What if God has been shaping us and molding us all along, through the good and the bad like Romans 8:28 promises us, to bring us to this very place to take action to protect these innocent babies?
What if we did more than simply state that we care about a cause?
What if we cared enough to do something about it?
Sincerely,
Brandy Meeks

Stacy's Story
This is what an early ultrasound looks like at our clinic,
a beautifully labeled picture of life that is shown on a large screen TV, and they also have the opportunity to take home
this picture in a sweet, handmade card.
The Rest of the Story . . .
Last month's newsletter featured a young woman we referred to as "Stacy." At the close of the article, she was trying to make a decision on the outcome of her pregnancy. After two appointments at the Center, Stacy was still undecided about the plan she would ultimately make, although she was inching closely to the adoption option. As we ended the newsletter, we asked you to pray for Stacy-because at the end of the day, that is where the battle is actually won!
Returning for a third appointment, Stacy was asked how she was feeling about the pregnancy. She told the advocate, "I'm thinking more about adoption." Because her boyfriend was still pushing for abortion, Stacy did not believe she could rule out abortion, yet. Her boyfriend did not accompany Stacy to her third or final appointment.
During the ultrasound, Stacy was talkative, making comments and asking questions: "My baby is really getting big!" "The picture of the baby looks kind of weird." "Does it move on its own?" "Could I get some extra pictures? My boyfriend's mother said she would like some pictures." By now, Stacy's baby was almost eight weeks old.
Before leaving the appointment that day, Stacy shared with the advocate that she wasn't sure about being a parent, but she was leaning towards adoption. Still, she felt pressure from her boyfriend to abort. The nurse offered Stacy one more appointment, one more opportunity, to see her unborn baby the following week. She accepted.
A week later, Stacy arrived for her fourth and final appointment at the Center. When asked, once again, how she was feeling about the pregnancy, she sighed, "I'm slowly feeling better, but physically, I'm drained." In response to what she thought the outcome of her pregnancy would be, Stacy said, "I'm going to choose adoption. I don't want to kill a little baby." She shared that her boyfriend had decided that adoption would be the best choice, but her mother had mentioned abortion again. (Stacy's mother was a driving force at the beginning of the pregnancy, influencing Stacy towards abortion.) However, the positive factors made known to the advocate included the facts that Stacy had told all of her family and friends about the pregnancy/adoption plans, she had begun to seriously investigate adoption, and she had made an appointment to begin prenatal care.
The final ultrasound revealed a baby over nine weeks old and on the move. Stacy commented again on how much her baby had grown and how much it was moving around. The sonographer asked her if she would like to see a model of the actual size of her baby . . ."Yes!" Stacy listened carefully as the sonographer described the growth that would take place in the next few weeks and finished with, "By twelve weeks your baby has everything an adult has-it just needs to grow bigger!"
Stacy left the Center that day with pictures of her baby and a renewed sense of confidence. A complete transformation had taken place since our first encounter with her. We know this is not the end of her story, but at least we have a beginning. Praise to our God and Father for His wonderful work in answering your prayers. But continue to pray for Stacy since her journey probably won't be easy, and pray for the many other "Stacys" we will be seeing in the days ahead.
MANY thanks for your prayers last month for Stacy to choose life for her baby. Will you please join us in praying for her as she continues
to consider adoption and parenting?
We are currently operating at an 84% success rate with the girls we see turning from abortion and choosing LIFE!!!
This year, the PRC is on track to successfully reach and turn the hearts of over 200 women like Stacy, which translates to over 200 babies saved! These numbers include women who come into our center wanting an abortion and those who are vulnerable to abortion due to risk factors. Thank you for supporting our efforts to reach these women.

If you have not signed up for the banquet but still want to attend, we have a few open spots for couples or singles. Please call our office soon to get on the list! If you are a Table Captain, we need the names of your table guests. Please email or call us with those as soon as possible.
Our speaker, Melissa Ohden, is the survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977. Despite the initial concerns regarding Melissa's future after surviving the attempt to end her life and being born alive at approximately seven months gestation, she has not only survived, but thrived. With a Master's Degree in Social Work, she has worked in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence/sexual assault counseling, and child welfare. Melissa and her husband Ryan have a daughter, Olivia, whose birth at the same hospital where Melissa's life was supposed to end, has significantly shaped Melissa's ministry.
In 2012, Melissa founded The Abortion Survivors Network, www.theabortionsurvivors.com, after recognizing the number of abortion survivors out there. She has been featured on television and radio programs including: The 700 Club, EWTN's Life on the Rock and Defending Life, Fox News, Facing Life Head On, Focus on the Family, and American Family Radio, the Mike Huckabee show, and the Teresa Tomeo show. Her life and ministry is featured in the award winning pro-life documentary, A Voice for Life.
Melissa's life story is about the beauty of God's grace in our lives, about the power of love, about the hope for joy and healing in the midst of grief and loss, and about the transformational power of forgiveness and in answering God's call for your life. Fulfilling the purpose that she believes God set out for her when He saved her from the certain death of the abortion attempt, Melissa is truly a voice for the voiceless.

Volunteer Spotlight!
Shirley is one of the sweet volunteers that work in the Mother Care room. She helps organize all of the donations that come in to support our moms and their babies. Diligently working behind the scenes, Shirley pours her heart into making sure that the "store" the women shop in is visually appealing and items are easily accessible. She's also queen of smiles when the ladies come in to exchange their points earned in class for baby items. She loves to help them, and it shows!
Shirley and her husband, Ralph, attend Living Hope Church, where they help welcome visitors. They're also active members of Missouri Right to Life. They believe it's important to be active in local ministry outside of the church. When Shirley isn't spending her time taking care of others by volunteering, she does enjoy cooking, reading her Bible, crafts and shopping.
When asked about why others should get involved with our organization, she says, "There is a great need! And it is a growing and learning experience."
Thank you, Shirley, for spending your Thursdays with us every week!
