Greetings!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to catch up with us! We've had so much joy in our center lately, and you need to be able to share in it as well!
As always, be sure to glance over the 5 Fast Ways section to see an updated list of ways you can be a part of the exciting things going on here this month. A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words is about a recent client who came in wanting to abort her child. The Bringing Life Back to the Golf Tournament section features a link to get your team registered before May 1! The Volunteer Spotlight features a volunteer who encourages and inspires us every time she walks through our doors.
I was recently interviewed by my alma mater, about what challenges I face in my job and what keeps me up at night. This was my response for the magazine article:
"The challenge with this position is definitely funding. We are solely provided for by private donations from churches and individuals. We do not receive any state or federal funding, and when we're running a non-profit medical clinic as part of the services that we offer, that can be really tough. We want to provide quality care for these young women, and it takes money to accomplish that. Last year, we had to cut back our clinic hours at the end of the summer to make budget, and we went from being on track to successfully help 200 women and their babies, to just 180. I take responsibility that we let 20 women and their babies slip through our fingers because we didn't garner enough support to stay open 3-4 days a week. That's what keeps me up at night."
I would ask you to stop what you're doing right now and pray. Pray that God will provide the financial needs for this place, and ask God if that provision begins with you.
If you already give regularly, thank you so much! These sweet faces that we are sharing daily on Facebook and in emails (like the one above!) are because you didn't just care about something. You cared enough to do something about it!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Margaret is in her early 20's and was very worried when she came to see us. Initially, when she first called us, Margaret wanted to know how to schedule an abortion. After learning we do not perform or refer for abortion, Margaret decided to make an appointment because our staff explained there was information that was necessary to know before scheduling an abortion. During the first appointment, Margaret shared with her advocate that she didn't know what to do or what she would do; the father of the baby wanted her to abort and others would support that decision as well.
After confirming a positive pregnancy test, an ultrasound was offered. The father of the baby and Margaret watched the screen with intense interest. Margaret said she would like pictures of the ultrasound even though she stated she would probably choose to abort. One week later, Margaret returned for STD results and to get another ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy was progressing. She left for the second week in a row stating she would probably choose to abort, and her heart was hard; however, the nurse mentioned that Margaret could return a third time to make sure the pregnancy was still viable (there was still a heartbeat). Margaret agreed. At the beginning of the third appointment, Margaret told the advocate she had changed her mind and wanted to have the baby. She said, "The sonograms have changed my mind." Knowing the father of the baby was still pushing for an abortion and her parents were not totally in favor of the pregnancy, the nurse offered her a fourth appointment. Our policy is to have an abortion-determined woman state in two consecutive appointments that she will be carrying the pregnancy to term. A friend came with Margaret to the fourth appointment. During the ultrasound, Margaret's friend exclaimed, "It's so cute!"
Since her fourth ultrasound, Margaret has been contacted through our follow-up process and has begun to put a parenting plan in place. She mentioned during her follow-up call, "I miss seeing my baby." Through the love of each team member in the Center, Margaret has had her fears transformed into confidence.
This year, the PRC is on track to successfully reach and turn the hearts of over 200 women like Margaret, which translates to over 200 babies saved! These numbers include women who come into our center wanting an abortion and those who are vulnerable to abortion due to risk factors. Thank you for supporting our efforts to reach these women.

Volunteer Spotlight!
Meet Deanna Nold
If you know Deanna, you will probably understand this next statement. If I had it my way, I would have Deanna hand write
every single communication that comes out of this office, including our newsletters. She has the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen in my life!
Her beauty doesn't stop there. It's so much deeper and authentic. She just radiates Christ's love. Deanna began volunteering here about 1 1/2 years ago. She says, "
I want to help the women make the right decision for their child and teach them how to nurture and raise that little one." That thought is reflected in her favorite verse, Romans 8:28, "
All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose." She adds, "
Mother and child was his idea. No baby has ever been a mistake."
Deanna and her husband attend Hosanna for church. She enjoys artwork, writing, scrap booking, photography, reading, gardening, and taking their classic cars to cars shows. When asked to give a description about how she feels about the PRC, she responds, "I can think of many ministries doing wonderful work, but St. Joseph PRC is so close to my heart--and God's. I am just so grateful to be a part of it."
Thank you, Deanna! We are also grateful you're a part of it!
Consider joining us for prayer one day and see how God speaks to your heart about being a part of this mission!
