Day Dreaming
"Old men shall dream dreams" Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28-32
I set here in South Denver on a cold snowy day. Denise is out getting some things and Sophia is in school. I'm in our basement surrounded by photos, road gifts, and memorabilia and three of the four crosses I've carried around the world. (The fourth cross is in the garage where I left it after a cold mornings crosswalk today).
A person at Guinness World Records contacted me to get my latest walking mileage last week. I've spent a couple of days getting all the documents they need to update the mileage for their next edition. To get the info required for the past five years I had to go into my files of photos, passports, news and etc. I am simply almost overwhelmed with emotion and tears flood my eyes. What awesome memories and glorious triumph Jesus has done.
I see photos of me as a small child and photos of me with people like Pope John Paul II, Billy Graham, George W. Bush, jungle people, armies at war, the cross in traffic and in the deserts, with people of all colors from all over the world. There are photos of my seven children from all over the world, they are smiling and growing up. There is my wife Denise's desk and dozens of her photos from around the world and memorabilia.
I've walked many more miles around the world than any person in history. It's totally stunning. Unreal. There is my headband I wore in the darien jungle. My two machetes used to hack my way through the jungles. There are dozens of worn out shoes, my wall map of every nation in the world with a pin stuck in when I had carried the cross in that place, 321 pins! There are photos of me in a bar preaching with Billy Graham in the background. Me preaching at the West Palm Beach International Rock Festival, photos of me when I was on the ballot for president of the United States in the 1976 election, photos of me with nameless road friends and the cross.
Then there is a special pile of broken and cracked 4 x 4 wood that are parts of my crosses that have been broken around the world. I burst into tears when I see these so I've put them in a place out of my normal eyesight. I was with the cross when it was broken all these times! For me to still be alive is a true miracle. This place is full of untold stories.
But I think of all the people saved along the way, all the prayers of blessings for people I've prayed and it is overwhelming. I think of all the people welcoming the cross and us. I know the sacrifice of those who have given to send us to the world for Jesus. You are our family in love and mission. You have accepted the cross mission with us.
I can't help but think on this cold snowing day of me carrying the cross and Denise driving up ahead on dangerous roads. We would sleep on the top of the Land Rover in a tent. In the night our water would freeze and we had nothing to drink. She and I have been through wars and dangers and often we did not know whether in the morning we would be on earth or in heaven. We clung to each other and rested in the Mighty Arms of Jesus.
Perhaps, I sound like an old man remembering my farm days as a child or my college days or the years on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood or walking around the world. If so, so be it but I'm not finished yet! I've preached to more people, more times on TV and in person in the first two months of this year than ever before! Just look at the month of March meetings on our homepage at www.blessitt.com and you will see just part of how we are moving forward in mighty harvest in these end times, plus all the crosswalks.
I am excited, full of energy, feel great and have the anointing glory of Jesus filling my heart and life. I am at peace, full of hope, moving forward to fulfill the mission Jesus has for us. I am preparing so many messages and interview questions for guests and staying in shape for the crosswalks. We plan a special crosswalk during Sophia's spring break leading up to Easter. Then we plan to go overseas for two months during the summer to carry the cross.
We need your prayers for all Jesus is leading us to do. Please pray for our health, wisdom, a clear mind, our ministry finances, our personal finances, for souls to be saved and believers to be trained and challenged to be witnesses for Jesus.
The key to all the above is 'Living in the Presence of the Lord'. This is the most popular message I have ever preached. You can get the DVD by clicking the link above on our website. It will help you so much to know how to live in victory and in the Glory of the Lord. This can be a real help for those seeking to live in the Glory every day.
Please do check out our website for the meetings and dates and times so you can pray for us. I update this every week.
God bless you,
I do love to pray for your prayer request. I read every one of them and pray and reply. I take the time for your e-mails and letters.
