Arthur Blessitt's 40,000 Mile Walk carrying the Cross!

Newsflash... today at 9:15am PST we crossed the 40K mark.

An excited crowd gathered about to cheer and pray for us. Two elders from the 'First Nations' called Indian tribes in the U.S. were there to welcome us, pray for us and give us each a beautiful necklace. It was a moving moment and the pastor at Yukon Bible Fellowship prayed us off to more walking, witnessing and in the Glory of God for people to be saved. We walk on... Glory. Jesus did it.

Guinness World Record holder Arthur Blessitt has reached forty thousand miles. This is the longest world walk in human history. 

June 25th, 2012 Arthur crossed the historic mark carrying a 12 foot cross in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. 71½ year old Blessitt said "I am so excited, Jesus did it. Through 44 years, 54 wars, jungles, deserts, in jail 24 times, about 80 million steps, a total weight of over 18 billion pounds and every nation, I feel great! Not an ache or a pain." His story is shared on his website www.blessitt.com During the walk he has carried the cross in 320 nations, major inhabited island groups and territories.

He has lived with the poor and slept on the roadsides and in the jungles. He has prayed with George W. Bush, been welcomed by Yasser Arafat in Beirut, led Billy Graham into the war in Belfast,

met with Pope John Paul 11 and  many world leaders, sports figures and royalty.  

Arthur has perhaps shaken the hands of more people in more nations than any person in history.   

A feature motion picture has been made of his life "The Cross, the Arthur Blessitt story". His wife Denise has been with him driving with supplies for 22 years. Arthur is the father of 7 children. His 8 years old daughter Sophia has been in forty nations.

Arthur says "at the cross the worst of man met the best of God and there is hope, love and salvation Jesus through what Jesus did on the cross. No one has fallen below the love of God. I always proclaim 'The Glory of the Coming of the Lord is at Hand'. I have the easiest job in the world, inviting people to know and follow Jesus. I'm just a donkey carrying the cross and lifting up the cross and Jesus. I plan to continue walking with the cross as Jesus leads us on. "

Arthur has a weekly TV program shown worldwide on TBN TV called "The Message of the Cross". He recently launched "The Cross in Space" a part of his cross is now in orbit around the earth passing over the nations every 90 minutes.

"The cross is the sign of the love of God reaching out to people everywhere, of every color and every nation and religion" stated Blessitt. "I love God and I love people. I try to keep it simple. The cross has been turned away from over half the churches I tried to leave it overnight but never from a bar or nightclub in 44 years.

June 16, Arthur, Denise and Sophia in Whitehorse, Yukon. Flew in and arrived after midnight. We slept late. Denise got our rent a car to drive support and I carried the cross this afternoon. Feel very tired after a long walk. Got to get the body back into top shape. A good witness this afternoon. Oh, thank you Jesus it feels so good and I feel at home on the road. You loved the roads too I believe because they led you to the waiting people for you to love, save, heal and bless. I never complain about the pain, nothing compared to what you suffered. Thanks for letting me feel the weight of the cross and the weight of the hurts and pains of humanity. This you know is my heaviest load. I go to sleeping thinking about & praying for those two young ladies & man in the car, so lost but so lovely. May they meet you Lord.

June 17, bought Sophia some great new walking boots and sun hat today. She looks awesome. A real cross walking girl. Denise outfits her so well. I picked some bright beautiful flowers for my girls. Had some witness to some diamond miners traveling far up into the wilderness. I love the sound of traffic and the huge trucks passing. I saw one truck and trailers with 30 wheels! Jesus speaks so clearly to me as we walk together. Our fellowship is my passion. I feel fresh and strong. It's amazing but I am much stronger than I've been for years. Jesus is doing it. Denise served some great road food.   

June 18, Sophia walked with me today for a couple of miles in her new boots and hat.  So cute.  We led a lady to Jesus after taking only a few steps. Glory. The beauty of Jesus is so overflowing and the love of God so awesome and the glorious presence of the Holy Spirit so thrilling. God exceeds all other human experiences. Should you miss God you've missed 'life', you've never really lived no matter what you have done on earth. Wow, I feel so such joy! Walking for Jesus.
June 19, Great chat with a long haul truck driver and prayer. Roadsides on the Alaska Highway are wide. Wonderful. Felt a bit tired so we made it a shorter day since this is the early start of the summer crosswalk. Will push it tomorrow. I always let my body tell me the pace. Have learned this on the walk years ago. Beautiful country up here. God bless.
June 20, Even out on the Alaskan Hwy. people are stopping & talking & praying. After 5 days of walking I felt I needed a rest tomorrow. Look forward to a feet up day & TV. Ha. Denise did laundry late this afternoon and got Sophia and I a fish burger each. Food tastes so much better on the road. Our website is flooded with thousands coming to view where the cross is in space. So many coming to Jesus on our website. Glory. Love being with Denise, Sophia & the cross on the road.
June 22, I walked only a few steps when a van stopped and a missionary lady and two young ladies and young man stopped. They had seen me on TV with Joel Osteen. We had a wonderful talk and prayer. They are from Texas going to Alaska visiting and sharing Jesus on in Indian Nations. I felt Jesus tell me to give them all the money I was carrying. I only share this to encourage you to obey the Holy Spirit. Be open to the Spirit of God to give to those you meet or know that you are prompted to. You may entertain angels unaware. The person that is setting beside you in church may need your money more than the church. You meet a stranger, you are blessed with a TV program, a friend may need their house payment made. The Bible says God loves a cheerful giver. So don't be bound by legalism. Be led by the Holy Spirit. I was able to help these Godly people on there journey. Who can you help? What is Jesus telling you to do. Then just do it. My wife is so often let to give to people and Jesus gives her the exact amount. We don't consider our needs. There are a few people I know that just love to bless, to give and it is an awesome ministry. We see real needs on our walks and we take special money to give to others as led. It's one of our greatest unknown callings. I've given away my food, my clothes, my money, etc. Some trips we come back with only the clothes on our back. We have Godly people that support this cross mission with no glory or honor; but they are the saints of the cross walk. They are together with us and I believe God gives them the same blessing he gives us. Don't think I've ever said that in public. ha. Many people stopped today.
June 23, Was a very warm day for up here. A lovely beautiful butterfly landed on my belt buckle.

Denise took photos. It stayed there for about a mile then flew away. It was like the smile of God upon us. Met a local pastor Rev. Turner and he invited us to his home and met his family and friends. He and his wife go back to the Jesus Movement days in So. Ca. and she was in the Plaza Mayor in Madrid when I was beaten and arrested in 1973! They are so wonderful. Look forward to speaking there in the morning. I'm getting excited about Monday, 9:15am in Whitehorse at the river front where I am to arrive to cross the 40,000 mile mark. Glory. I am feeling good and healthy after a weeks walk with the cross. Please keep us in your prayers.
June 24, Carried the cross this morning to almost the 40,000 mile mark and then  stopped. Preached at Yukon Bible Fellowship, Rev Turner pastor. At the end of the meeting people came to the cross and prayed

"I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live yet not I, but Christ lives in me. Here am I Lord send me." It was glory.

Next week, Yellowknife, NW Territory Canada to carry the cross.

After 12 years of effort the Cross circling above the nations. Where ever you are, look up, the cross is up there. It was launched on the SpaceX rocket Falcon 9 on May 22 and is in a canister attached to the second stage rocket still orbiting the earth. With the cross in space we declare "The Earth is the Lords"
